Find this hard to believe.

Most of those clubs below have played at a higher levels, won titles and never applied for re-election as many times etc etc. No doubt though the IOR years could've played a big part in finishing 75th, whilst some of the those other clubs floundered. In 2000 I think we'd have been bottom or near the bottom of that list.

Stats can lie though, and regardless of position, I would say we are the least or one of the least longstanding successful clubs in English football, having never won a title, appeared at Wembley, got past the 4th round of the League and FA cups, won even a Non League trophy or even been involved in a proper cup giant killing, such as beating a Premier League team away from home.

all that is totally true and does make you wonder why we get upset following a club thats stagnating at its current level. forget the few good days most of our time was success seen as being in the top half of the bottom league whatever name that was called.

Absolutely spot on Accrington but as every TRUE Pools fan is aware we actually earned the right to play at Wembley twice. It was no fault of the club, the managers, players or fans that were denied the opportunity as a result of football priorities being stacked up against the small clubs as per.

It wasn't, but it tells you about Pools and bad luck, if Pools got to Wembley next season, it wouldn't surprise me if it was bombed the week before.

The bloke did say it was his view and opinions vary, some seemed a bit dubious to me, but I suppose it depends how far you can go back.
Generally though it was an entertaining half hour.

you could see it now that we should be playing carlisle there and the league move the game to old trafford with an excuse of helping the fans travelling costs and time. been to wembley quite a few times but the only decent visit is your first time there. i,d go if pools got there but doubt i would if they made a second visit.
