Don't worry...they'll soon kamikaze across a main road straight into a windscreen.

I cut down my apple tree last autumn as the wood pigeons had nested there.
It wasn't because they were troublesome, it was because the tree was too open and the crows came down for the eggs and there was an horrible fight which I couldn't bear to watch. Better for them to nest in the woodlands nearby.

Now if you were to mention starlings, well there is a problem I have had for years!
They take the baby birds' droppings away, which are in sacs, in their mouths and splatter them all over the driveway, patio and paths. I've ensured that my roof has no spaces in for them, the same cannot be said for the neighbours who despite being told several times, refuse to get the gaps in their roofs fixed. Only upside of that is that they will no doubt be woken up at daybreak by the birds tweeting away, hungry for their food. Downside is I am out twice a day cleaning up the mess. After the nesting season is over, I am going to be calling round yet again, to ask them if they can do something about it otherwise I'll start shitting on their property!!!!

Cut down an Apple Tree

Could you not just have shut the door, and let nature take its course, would probably have only happened the once.

It was more a crab apple tree, put in there by the previous owners more as a decorative feature.
It was old and it was uplifting the lawn, best out.
I still have an apple tree I put in, a minature one which bears a canny bit of fruit.

Ratboy is sat patiently in the shade awaiting events…a very patient and efficient ‘negotiator’. …
Big Ruby can’t be arsed, I blame the heat.

I like House Martins.

The ducklings are very late to Ward Jackson Park this year.
Only a few baby Moorhens so far.

The baby swans should be due to arrive in 2 weeks.

Always respect wildlife.

You are forgiven then  I actually had to cut down an Apple Tree on my allotment, as it was diseased and I was worried it may spread to another Apple Tree I have nearby.

Love Apple Trees and anything that bears fruit for crumbles over the summer months.

Don't know about you, but I'm getting softer in my old age, I supposed that's the way its supposed to be and should be.

The other day, a bee had got into the house, and I went to great lengths to let it out of the window, whereas 5-10 years ago, I'd have just got my slipper out and ..... you know the rest. I think as you get older, and see loved ones pass away, it makes you think more of life and death, and that everything that moves, has a part to play in this great thing we are given, called life.

I suppose the secret is, to be kinder to all living things earlier in your life, not wait until you're in your 50s etc, if only people could do that when they were younger, then the world would be a better place. Like many others, I did some bad things to wildlife when I was younger, think of all the birdsong that was denied the world, due to the collecting of birds eggs in the 1970s, thankfully a hobby kids don't partake in anymore, thanks to tv, mobiles, and the internet.

cannot remember even swatting a fly never mind a bee. used to open the window for them all. however if a human squatter had come in they,d get a kicking and a dog set on them.

doubt it as they have so many chicks just to make sure 2 or 3 will survive. we,d be over run by anything that breeds 100% into survival.

nothing better than letting the dog off to chase the cat who is after the birds.

I’d exercise caution where wild creatures are involved with their different moral code….. which tends to be …‘than you so very much….you tasted lovely’.

What do you mean by surprises here, it’s a civilised country, English Breakfast everywhere if that’s your thing, more to life than an English breakfast FFS !
I eat Thai food in general which has Pork and Chicken ingredients with fresh herbs, Thai curries, fresh fish and seafood is in abundance and cheap. There is a wide variety of global restaurants where I live and your usual junk ones, McDonalds, KFC etc.

As mentioned earlier, most things that move are on the menu of another. It's a hard life out there so I put most leftovers out for whatever finds it.

Never mentioned the bugs, tried them, they only taste of the oil they are fried in, supposed to very good for you though, pies, pasties and sausage rolls etc all freshly baked if you are into eating unhealthy food like that.
Benidorm been once never again, full of little Englanders looking for English breakfasts and pints of Carling, won’t be so many now due to the new visa rules.
You need to get a flight here, 60 day visa stamp at the airport on entry at no cost, free.

Comparing 4 bottles of Amstel and food made from a Yorkshire Pudding mix with sausages to the cost of living here isn’t really a comparison, the same meal here with beer would cost you around €6.
Benidorm doesn’t float my boat, it’s Blackpool with the sun, I can make comparisons Sussex, I have had many holidays in Spain and the Balearics, I lived in Tenerife as well, you have never been to S.E. Asia try it before making any comparisons, splash the cash on flights, you might like it.

not having a go at you but who is to say what foods ae healthy and which ones are not. being a cynic i have always thought that if there is a worldwide glut of any food it will become healthy and vice versa. i,ll carry on with my pies and pasties with the occasional english breakfast to keep my weight down and able me to walk the dog a couple of hours a day.

One man’s meat is another man’s poison, over the years we get told something is bad for you then a few years later it’s good for you. Pies I never eat, the pastry kills me with indigestion, English breakfast occasionally,I cook myself, I try to limit the amount of processed meat I consume like bacon, sausages etc.
Thai food has added sugar in it, they love sugar, drink coke and sugary drinks by the gallon, high diabetes rates here as well. They also use a food additive called MSG a flavour enhancer used to intensify the savoury taste of food, MSG is a white, odourless powder that dissolves easily in water and is commonly used in processed foods and Asian cuisine. You will probably Indian and Chinese food in the U.K. has MSG in it, look at the labels on processed food E621 is MSG.
