Anyone realistically thinking we will get there is definitely under the influence of something!

I do think we will have a decent end to the season but there are too many teams above us and too many points to make up to get anywhere near a playoff slot.

Anyway, why don’t we have an end of season competition to see who is the most realistic.

Predict position in league and number of points at end of season. Score 1 for every point above/below and 3 points for every position in league above/below. Lowest score wins.

I’ll go first and predict 10th place with 61 points.

Prize of bragging rights and Mr Realistic (or Mrs) title for the winner!

Yes, but you have to remember the modern fixation with creating the right image for your brand. Or "turd polishing" to those of us over 50.

Except in Horden of course, where they have the Jack Dormand Care Home. Yacker-land in general is refreshingly "old-school" in this respect, and you'll find many a street or building named after historical Labour-party figures and other assorted lefties of the past.

And of course there's the Yacker capital city of Peterlee, where you can ask younger folk who it's named after and they won't have a clue even with the massive one in the name itself.

But none of ours beat them cheeky Southern shandy drinkers down in Colchester with their most wonderful Stalin Road.

House prices there might be lower than average, but tractor production is through the roof..!
