I seem to remember they couldn't get the smoke colour right when they elected the Polish fella back in the day, and it caused a lot of confusion.

He was an interesting bloke mind. I'm sure he'd been involved with the Polish resistance during the war, and wasn't just there to say a few prayers. He'd have been a great choice if the Brus Arms wanted a priest with a good left-hook stood at the bar in case it all kicked off.

Which isn't as daft as it sounds, as I believe the Brus was actually used as a temporary place of worship while a new church was being built - but I might've imagined that one.

We could combine the two roles…..God is then on our side…. but there could be a problem with the Easter fixtures on the run in.
Mind you, Xmas could be awkward too. sadx
Best of all, the player’s would have to go to confession.

I reckon it was Liz Truss- on a MAGA mission for the Donald. She's certainly got form, after her double whammy murder of the economy, closely followed by the Queen. :angry-tappingfoot:

There is still a big cloud over that Pope and his involvement in Argentinas dirty war. He allegedly facilitated in the abduction of a number of people.

same with the us stock market where its only a very indirect thing to affect most of our lives. the only thing is i have no interest in either even if a relative said i should. do not feel i have missed out as i cannot change it.

Mr A ….it’s a roller coasters ride with no brakes and the only people who profit from the roller coaster ride are those who own it or run it.
If you ride on on it….it costs…so best to just watch from the side or get fleeced.

I liked his views on Gaza and the war in Ukraine, he was a man of peace and promoted peace, so in that respect, he will be missed, in a world full of warmongers and brainwashed sheep.

Mentioning Gaza…I never understood why the Israeli’s didn’t take it on the chin and make Hamas look the bad boys they are big time.
I always get the feeling if Israel didn’t exist, the Arab states would just pick a fight with each other as in Iran/Iraq.
Must be something in the water.

The US Stock does affect people’s lives, company pensions and private pensions are invested in the US Stock Market, the U.K. Stock market follows suit. Stocks fall the value of holdings of a pension falls.
Accrington do you actually think companies and individuals pay money to a pension scheme and the provider keeps the money in their bank account and years later they pay it out with interest added ?
Many investment companies including pension providers invest in gold as it’s seen as a safe haven protecting their investors in the current fluctuations in the global stock markets created by the orange man.

Pension providers might/should provide an annual statement for PP but from my experience it’s all written in financial terms which can be difficult to understand.

some people can manage money and others just cannot including offsprings of financial experts. any foot can find the places they get mortgages from but need to work out how much they,ll actually pay for their bricks and motor over the years they take out the mortgage for. i got a shock when i did it.
