Would take Mowbray in a second , though only way he would come is if he wanted a quieter profile job closer to home given recent health issues so not likely.

Rep for playing good football, working with youngsters etc...--he is several levels above what we could expect to attract unless there were some weird circumstances

I personally think Mr Smithers, should be kept on, regardless of who owns the club. Think he's done enough to warrant the summer and the beginning of next season to put his own stamp on things.

Mowbray won't be cheap and has turned us down in the past. Doubt he'd take it with Raj and his old mate Pally gone.

He has had plenty of of opportunities as a manager 10 managerial appoints, sacked from most, 61 years old, need a younger manager..

Aye, he’s came through the rough period, give him a chance.

Jamie..I agree with you, but sackings/departures in this business are part and parcel of the game…..

Not many managers been sacked 10 times, normally they give up after 3/4 failed attempts, Mowbray up there with Raneri as the 2 most sacked managers.

he has a good press therefore his name comes up when there is a new manager to appoint. find him overated myself and his football can be too tippy tappy for me. a better version of michael appleton.

Good range of thoughts there, Cheers.
Its good to get reasonable answers.

Still on the fence with AL, Although he seems to have the players on his side.
Better brand of football mostly.

I’m on the fence with AL as well. Definitely deserves some credit for weathering the storm, keeping us away from relegation and claiming a few playoff scalps.
I just get this nagging feeling he’s a bit lightweight though - doesn’t smack of a promotion winning manager - and tactically has got away with a few times.
I can’t see any point giving him the summer and a few months to prove himself further though. That’s just another wasted season unless he really does prove some of us wrong.
Difficult decision for any new owner and couldn’t blame them for deciding either way.

I've been on the fence with AL since he came in put he's starting to sway me now. He's done well of late and has probably earnt the right to have the summer. I do worry about him tactically at times, often think we sit back to much once we score first and sometimes his subs can be questionable. Seems a good man who wants to succeed at pools.

I think all new managers need a minimum of 6 to 10 games to get a feel for the team in terms of their decisions. AL hasn't exactly been spoilt for choice on the bench with all the injuries we've had. He's always talking to the players and trying to direct the game which is more than a lot of managers I've seen. I've warmed to the guy and hope he's given a chance with some money to spend. If that ever happens.

I think Reyes Clearly has saved AL's bacon to be honest. We would be in the mire without his contribution. Can't see a new owner sticking with AL and giving him a preseason to recruit. If Raj is still around he might be the cheap option.

I know football management is different from a normal career but looking at Mowbray CV it doesn’t indicate any real achievements except in Scotland.
If anyone’s CV on here indicated one sacking after another surely a prospective employer might wonder why. If Singh was looking for staff for his Care Homes I doubt he would employ anyone sacked from numerous positions.

When the dust settles, if new owners come in, they’ll do as they see fit.
Our musings will be just that and nothing else.

Norwich City sack their manager,Dane leaves Carrow Road following a run of six defeats in eight Championship matches.
Thorup, 36, was appointed in May 2024 as the replacement for David Wagner, who had been dismissed following the Canaries' play-off defeat by Leeds United, sack a manager who gets you to the play offs ?

Yes…depends on the size of the club though.

Always fancied Mowbray at Pools, but he's set his bar too high to want to manage Pools, mind you give it another 15 years or so, and he could be tempted.
