What? And start yet again with a proven (ie Askey/Curle/Sarll) or unproven (ie Hartley/ Harrison) manager and an entire squad of players of journeymen players who may not have what it takes to be effective in this Godawful league? Unless there are a couple of of Hollywood superstars waiting in the wings to stride into the club and start splashing the cash big time, don't expect a big name boss or a host of marquee signings.

The Yank-owned Carlisle shaggers brought in the geriatric Hughes and effectively signed a whole new squad in the January EFL transfer window and despite their recent revival are still hot favourites - along with Morecambe - to return to their old no-league stamping ground next season

Far better and more realistic to retain a hard core of six or seven players who have proved their worth in the NL and complement these with affordable signings preferably those who have been individually successful in EFL or NL promotion winning outfits.

Come on, so we do that and we start all over again ….new manager, new owners and new players….then we lose our first match and you will repeat your opening sentence ……but just change the names.
Slow to praise, quick to condemn.

A few good signings will go a long way, not necessarily a big clear out (although I understand the frustration). We need better recruitment, despite what the happy clappers say every single summer, it has been patchy.

We do have a habit of turning decent players into average or worse too.

We need new owners announced next week so the club has the financial stability to sign players. Until that happens the rest is pointless.

it is and will be unless the new owner has money to burn, a football man with contacts who can bring his own good manager into the club. anything else would at best be stagnation with a similar manager and group of players like we have now. hopes and dreams are all we are left with as fans.

If we get new owners with a different level of ambition and the money to back it up they're entitled to appoint whoever they want.

In any other scenario Limbrick should carry on in charge. Yet another pointless role of the dice is the Raj Singh way.

Preferably last week…this is getting ridiculous…it’s treating the fans like irrelevant fools.

fans are the last thing that bothers them as we are only a necessary moaning evil in their eyes. we need to pay our money and shut up.

Aye…to paraphrase a certain poster…

YOU’RE NOT HERE TO THINK
A COMPLIANT SUPPORTER IS A HAPPY SUPPORTER
NOW SHUT UP,
PAY UP,
AND TURN UP.

Several EFL and NL clubs have been the subject of takeovers, administration etc over recent years. I would very much doubt that the associated fans of those clubs have been mushroomed as Pools supporters have been over the past four/five weeks. Even allowing for the fact that detail of the takeover ls by necessity confidential, it beggars belief that the 'interim board' seemingly cannot be arsed to provide a further update that would at least indicate which direction the club is potentially heading.

The recent announcement of the change of kit supplier for next season without any indication of how the takeover process is progressing may have served to provide some fans with hope. However, in the absence of a follow up statement it only served to heighten concerns that all may not be well and could be construed as taking the piss out of the fanbase.

Unless Raj Singh is taking some perverse pleasure in taking retribution against the handful of Pools fans who shamefully found it necessary to verbally abuse him and his family via mushrooming the entire fanbase, it is difficult to appreciate what purpose the above announcement served.

To his credit, Stelling Junior of the Hartlepool Mail is the only local journo who is at least attempting to keep the 'takeover' process (if that is indeed what is going on) at a reasonably high profile amongst the routine noise emanating from the club. Is it really too much to expect regular updates from the club itself now that the 2024/25 season is rapidly drawing to a conclusion?
