A story emerged of 2 phony Iranian teenage asylum seekers who arrived on boats risking life and limb who later went back to the country ( Iran ) they were fleeing persecution from. It transpired they went on a two month holiday to see family & friends and to enjoy some water skiing. Funded by the tax payer with housing and benefits provided therefor apparently completely skint on arrival.The housing officer went to check on them and apparently they weren't at home. When asked about the 2 month break they said a mystery man had paid for the trip but have no idea who he was or why he did it. The housing officer resigned and has now blown the whistle on what could be an enormous problem. This sort of behaviour does not help the genuine asylum seekers who really are fleeing horrendous situations. Surely its not just these two teenagers who are exploting the system from the thousands who have so far arrived on these shores. Its surely time a proper vetting system was put in place.

All what needs to be done is to say...anyone crossing the channel in a dingy will be immediately deported...end of chat.

Every Sunday morning a couple of families go past our house on their way to Church immaculately turned out……they’re obviously of African origin but a credit to their upbringing and they are integrating into the society the now choose to live in.
I like that.

Seen a similar story in Derbyshire involving three asylum seekers who fled from Iran only to go back on holiday - and the agency that looks after them gets £370 per week for each one and hadn't noticed that they'd gone on holiday! Or you can claim up to £3,000 to help you, the asylum seeker, to return home. Now, compare the £370 pw to the state pension.............

Yes thats exactly what the new people should be doing good on them. I also passed a similar group of around 10 adults teenagers and toddlers all dressed up in bright very smart colourful costumes. A older gentleman at the front smiled and said good morning on passing. I like nice people regardless what country they arrive from. It just takes a little politeness and a smile to realise we are all the same on this planet. Just a pitty a few always try to spoil it for the masses.

I’ve been through Calais plenty of times and the boat people live more or less rough in the dunes and the French don’t give a toss….so the offer of Hotel accommodation, food and other benefits and no compulsory ID card like the rest of Europe have, over here is the draw and the French pointed this out, but no one of any party does a thing about it.

could be ones though who have lived in the country for years like the ones who are called to prayer at their local mosques. thats the new problem thats been created. you cannot tell the difference between them and the dinghy divers by just looking at them. was never a problem till the first boat came in and doubt this topic would ever be discussed only a few years back. said before its the 2nd and 3rd generations of immigrants who will suffer more than the new wave if things kick off. go back to WW1 and how anyone with a shop and a germanic name were treat when their windows were put in due to something that happened hundreds of miles away that they never caused.

Expensive holiday, the smugglers charge £5000 a head plus for a place on a dingy then transport to Calais, cheaper to jump on a wagon.
