So Mr Trump wants a 100% tariff on foreign films in the USA. Can't be good for one possible takeover candidate.

Maybe Mr Trump could put a block on our plans?

Yep, been thinking that too. If her bid is serious and its backed by film industry money the orange gobshite just put a big question mark over it. Would be just Hartlepool's luck!

I doubt the tariff will last but if it does surely there's loads of ways around it. Films are a bit different to physical goods so what are you actually putting the tariff on? The sale of distribution rights, DVDs, cinema tickets? If it's the last 2 surely films will just go straight to streaming, if it's the first surely you get a production company in the US to co-produce so that the film is then american made when you sell the rights or you sell it to the European arm of a big US company who then own the IP so can distribute in the US?
If I can think of ways around this and I have no experience in the industry I doubt it's likely to go ahead/work

This will be history by next month…if Hollywood is making films overseas, it’s probably because of the costs in the US..

That’s another spanner in the works.

Trump thoughts change by the day, he is now realising companies are not now all of a sudden going to shut up shop in other countries and move to the States. Imposing tariffs means the countries he imposing them on they will just sell their goods elsewhere, American isn’t the only country in the world.
Musk must be regretting the day he backed Trump, sales in Tesla cars has slumped as has the value of the company. Amazon were going to price goods on their US site showing what extra was added because of the tariffs but relented.
