Not sure what to make of this, in the context of the club supposedly being in limbo after the last game of the season. sctatchinghead

On the face of things it's very good news, but who's paying for it? Or Joe Monks' salary for that matter?

I am not sure either Mr.Hogans. You would have though before releasing info to the public someone would proof check the the letter. Apparently it's now 16s 18s 17s 19s  BTW I still think Raj is pulling all the strings while pretending he is leaving the club. Be very interesting if a miracle happened and we got in the playoffs. Would he suddenly not be selling the club or would he use it to sell the club. The Dury is out.

They’re just piggybacking the college aren’t they, so they’ll be paying for it most likely. In fact this system I’m fairly sure is what they use in the colleges so I’d see it as the club just following how the college does it exactly from start to finish now.

for me it just sounds like the old youth structure of the youth team with the addition of an u16 and 19 teams.

I think your reading ths wrong. What it measn is the club will be playign the academy kids next season more so beacuse they wont pay for adult, experienced players.

I think in principle having a progression is a good thing, its pretty much what Rugby clubs do with their colts team. Linking it with the college is again a good thing. The only hesitation is what happens when a new owner or administration happens.

I have been wondering if Raj will refuse to sell us to any of the interested parties and we’ll be left with a tiny budget, where he doesn’t have to put any money in but can still take his management fees, just plodding along on life support (if we aren’t already).

the big difference with rugby is that if success comes along then fine but its not the b all and end all of a season like football has become at seemingly all levels of football where players are being paid. more culture change where once fans just wanted to watch a good game with a win seen as a bonus.
