20-year-old Pools keeper, been on loan to Redcar Athletic in the Northern League all season, kept his 23rd clean sheet of the campaign on Saturday.

Redcar are top of their league and he must be a big reason why - they've only conceded 23 goals in 37 games!

Hopefully Pools stop fannying about looking for cast-off keepers next season and let Mazfari fight it out with Smith for the jersey.

That is incredible and yes he must be a true contender now. I hope someone like boro don't buy him when he should be playing here. Thanks for the info Mr.Hogans.

It's about time we gave our younger players a proper chance to prove themselves in this shit division.

Ye.

I'd give him a go next season - you can only have potential for so long before you have to start delivering. Got to be given the opportunity to fail

Also the goalkeeper is the one position were you could be playing in League 2 one week and the Championship the week after.

with them topping the league i wonder how much he has had to do. never thought that clean sheets were that good a guide to how good a keeper is at any level. you get games where they do more in the warm up and spend the game dealing with the odd back pass and taking goal kicks.

fine, but you must admit that being in the nets is different for the keeper at the top of any division to the lad playing at the bottom who might have a bad defence in front of him. you,ll get a game where a keeper lets 5 in and he gets a man of the match performance. even some of our much maligned first team keepers would have been better thought of playing behind a good defence and keeping clean sheets with little work to do with the team smashing opponents every week.
