Should knock your bill down by half that amount.

I'm on a meter and pay £21 a month.

Mine is £17 on a meter.

Met client at work last week (i give debt advice). Called Yorkshire Water. 4 bed council house = rateable charge of £1,176 per year for 25 / 26 water bill. WOW!

Got it reduced but I was shocked.

My water rates in 2020 were £33..sp over 5 years it went up £10.
Now it’s went up £12 in one year……that is taking the piss.

Surely the triple lock covers it?
And, don't forget that the increases are needed to improve sea and river water quality, nothing g at all to do with keeping the dividends to foreign shareholders flowing.

I was always against a meter, but these significant rises year on year, are making me think its time for a meter. A single person would benefit from having a meter, I'd imagine.

From what I can gather we’d be better off on a meter but I’m guessing that what’s the water company wants……..

My bill went up a similar amount to Snowy & I contacted them for a water meter. They came the following week to put one in & then a few days later I got my new bill. It's dropped to £46 a month, but will now be payable over 12 months instead of 10, so has in fact gone up. Hopefully when we have had it for a year or so, my bill can drop to £20 like some of the posters above!!

I agree if this is how it’s gonna rise..but call me a cynic, but when we all have them they’ll have us by the short and curries over pricing.

Mine went from £47 to £60 per month, I messaged them asking why the extortionate rise, they just said that all price increases are set by OFWAT and they just follow that

only problem with them is its like using gas and electric where you spend half your life trying to use them as little as possible instead of the old days when you switched anything on without a second thought. loody women are the worst as mine insists i use a car wash instead of what i have done all my life and wash the things on the drive.

And the other big blame.......Covid.

The best way to convince/ prove the value in having a meter is to share information with your neighbours. It took me a few years to get one but was convinced when one of them with similar house and occupancy shared their figures. Now i feel a mug because i was paying more than I needed to.

I firmly believe that all businesses have been getting their Covid losses back by skinting Joe Public but instead of stopping when they got their lost profits back, they just carried on fleecing us ……….££££££££££

Interesting facts about Anglican Water albeit a couple years old, the most interesting one is they were debt free when it was privatised but have debts of £7 billion now but still paying dividends.
