My OH has been looking at these Over 50/55 places for her Dad.

The properties themselves look really nice. Most of these places have clubhouses and a community type atmosphere.
Downside are site fees of around £2k a year and if you sell you have pay 5-10% to the site owners.

Seems like there are 3 of these places in the area: Easington Road, Blackhall and Seaton.

I wondered if anyone here lives in one of these places, or knows someone who does, and can give me some feedback.

Cheers.

Location: Rocks or Colliery?
I live near the large Parkdean site at Crimdon and have spoken to a few people who have moved off there to the smaller sites nearby due to exorbitant site fees and underwhelming trade in offers against homes they had paid a hefty fee for several years earlier.

Thanks for your reply.

Just to clarify I'm talking about Park Homes that are in a gated community for older people, not caravan holiday parks.
The properties on the Park Homes are more like small bungalows.

Aren’t you only allowed to stay on them for 10 months of the years or you pay Council tax which on top of site fees which be very expensive.
I looked at one on the coast down south near my daughter, great facilities but the site fees were £5000 a year and it closed for 2 months in the winter.
