Still a long way from playoffs but big win, and at least gives us a platform for next 3 home games where we really have to win all 3

Positives

First half thought we were better and had at least a plan to press higher though not perfectly executed
New manager gets credit for dropping Charman, and changing things formation wise while we were struggling
Cleary obviously a big threat at this level, and got a lot of good crosses in
Ferguson set pieces a lot better than usual

Negatives

Awful first 20 minutes of the 2nd half and we looked lost for a while after their goal
Dodds gets worse and worse--feel for him as there is a good player there that we have seen first hand but really in a downward spiral - hope he gets better
Charman managed to fit 90 minutes worth of shite into a 25 minute cameo
Mani D is def off form as well--I think he is trying just struggling--there is an argument for resting him as well

Overall an improvement from the very low bar of recent games--lets hope we kick on in the next 3 winnable games

Must've watched a different game to me. I thought we were poor in the final 3rd throughout. Midfield was none existent. We got lucky with what looked like an offside goal and an own goal.
Midfield needs sorting, and Madine needs a new strike partner with Mani having a rest.

Nowhere near offside. Player in Suttons right back position playing Madine on.

I have not seen the Madine goal back yet but I'm told he was well onside although I also thought he must of been off.

I've just watched the highlights and I think it could be onside. Looking at the reaction of the lad who potentially played him on, I think he knew he had messed up.

Fair enough if he was onside, we still got lucky imo. Something to build on hopefully though.

Goal was not offside just watched the highlights, Sutton player on the far side playing everyone on.
The own goal was forced by us, the player had to get there first or we had a free header.

Thats the hardest i,ve seen Manni play for weeks.

Fergusons corners were very good today, caused Sutton all manner of problems.

I was pretty chuffed with that today. PTID may be right, long term prospects for the club aside, a new man in charge might result in more points on the board.

For once we had the luck. I'm sick of seeing other teams get all the luck and winning. I'm happy for the team for our first win at Sutton ever.
Maybe we can be the team who start getting a bit of form and gatecrash the playoffs and maybe be a EFL club again.

The MannyD situation is a disgrace.
Must be a youth kid or anyone to take his place.

That's why I've mentioned 4 4 1

Top of the Cya later list for sure.

Not harsh just reality.

I like Mani a lot, but something seems off with him at the moment, might be a good time to give him a break on the bench.
I noticed on the alternative angle of our winner, Mani didn't seem 'into it', and when Luke Waterfall was waving everyone over him and Mani didn't acknowledge each other.

But this MannyD lack of effort can't be arsed malarkey is now entering its 6/7th game in a row.

No transfer window so surely a deal to bring a forward in can be done.

a win away must surely give the players some confidence even if it does not with the fans.

Post-match the managements at both Sutton and Braintree said their defences struggled against the two big lads up front.

Not my preference, especially when Joe Grey is back, but as the saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I'd say Madine and Mani are nailed on to start against Tamworth if they're both fit.

needed for their defensive work where the ball will be airborne in our box and rarely on the floor as well as where we want them in the game.

Good point - Tamworth's main tactic in attack is those long throws.

Watched the highlights, whilst obviously not a representation of the full match, I thought that Pools actually resembled a proper football team. It could be that Limerick swapping places with Lawrence is the catalyst that finally turns the fortunes of the Club around. With Mancini and Grey hopefully returning to action within the next few weeks the side should grow stronger and even more confident. Mani may not be firing on all cylinders at present but his height will be beneficial pulling him back to defend against the one trick pony Tamworth aerial barrage. Then again it could all go tits up lol.

From what I saw in the highlights after going behind there was only one side going to win especially after we equalised, if you look at the stats 8-3 on corners and double the amount of shots on target and against a team unbeaten since boxing day. Limbrick was named manager of the day in the non-league paper,

Just had a look at the Sutton forum and it appears most believe the better team won. Some even say it should have been by more and could have been a hammering. They said we are a big strong fisical side who are effective but not as good has the top teams. I thought we edged it over the 90 mins but not as convinced as Sutton fans. We had 8 shots on target they had 5 we had 8 corners and they had something like 4 so it was probably the correct result. Our new manager got awarded manager of the day and the Sutton keeper got loads of praise for making quality saves. Mr. Smithers blue n white army UTP
