I understand the National League are making a proposal for this to the EFL…some say they won’t be receptive, but if three go up, surely that give relegated league clubs a quicker chance return so it’s a two edged sword.
I hear talk of the third bottom League club playing the winner of the playoffs which to me is unfair as they’ve had to play through the playoffs only to play against a club who would have to play one game.
Like to see it happen but wouldn’t hold my breath.

I read a story saying that all 72 efl clubs have signed an agreement to move this forward, I understand there's a very real probability it'll be in place next season.

it will actually mean less playoffs places likely with only the top 6 going up or being involved--which still makes more sense than what we have now

Only effect Pools if constructed Ambition is applied to the club.

If only, but that's not what is being reported at all. The EFL is kicking the idea into the long grass by tying it to getting a lot more cash off the Premier League. Looks like it'll be 3-4 years at best before the change is made.
