If Auld Len is Mr Burns - surely that makes Limbrick, Smithers! Reckon he looks a bit like him too

If we come up short - Mr Burns will assume control of the power plant

Ha ha That's very true Kettering. I was babysitting my granson ( 5 yrs old ) just after Auld Len got the job and it was him who said is that man Mr.Burns. So that's the reason I started the Mr.Burns thing on the bunker.

Has Limbrick been made a Patsy so if we fail to reach the play offs he will be sacked to save Lennies face.

I’m gonna sit in my shell crater and monitor events….the Charge of the Light Brigade turned into The Charge of the Shite Brigade…but the opposite can also happen.
I’m in a reasonable mood today.

Don't you mean "Real Gateshead" or their other nickname "The Invincibles". Pools known as the "Easybeats" or "Hartlepool Nil".

CV reads good sacked from Woking and The New Saints, what made the board decide he has the qualities which can take Pools upwards and onwards ?

I’m not excited by this appointment but sadly we have to accept it and hope for the best. As for his cv virtually every manager, particularly in the lower leagues, have been sacked on a number of occasions. Just reading today how Swindon are doing under Ian Holloway this is his 10th club and been sacked by most of them. Even Challoners last entry before joining Pools was sacked by Fylde.

I was looking on the net but it’s not really mentioned that he had a very short spell with Manchester 62 a Gibraltar based team.

It wasn't working under Lennie and the deal was supposedly that this guy gets the job for next season so all that's happening is it's a bit sooner. Who knows he might be able to get a better tune out of the mottled crew he's inherited, we'll find out soon enough.

Just means he will vacate Pools a lot earlier than when he already was going to due to more Failurism.
Ya got to be a bit mental to think he can transform the team especially with his previous cv and his shit crack you tube videos.

WSO.

As long as shit players like Campbell Fevs n Fergy plus a few more are made out to be better than what they are then we going nowhere fast.

Rock bottom on its way for sure.

Reality is tough at times but jackshit any fan can do about it.

Well if they're our only option it's down to the manager and coach to eke out any improvement they can. It doesn't take the Special One to know that a central midfield pairing of Campbell and Fev will leave you extremely exposed. Or that the headless chicken that is Charman is not a winger, or indeed a NL standard footballer. Or Mani has either given up because of lack of service or because he doesn't want to be here.

I wouldn't employ anyone who wasn't a northerer,or Scottish
When I say Scottish I mean someone who'd played or managed in their premier League

While there is no doubt wee mental Paul Hartley was an unmitigated disaster for Pools, didn't we have a Scottish manager called Neil Cooper who did a reasonable job? Then going back to Pools first ever promotion out of the Fourth Division we had a jock manager called Gus McClean. Scottish managers are like English, Welsh and Irish managers; some are good and some are bad.

Wasn’t there a fella called Ferguson who managed north of the border before having a highly successful managerial career in England ?

Very true., but he had a dodgy start but his new employers stuck with him when the fans wanted him out.

Both quite unfair here. Had around a 50% win rate with Woking until Inih Effiong and Joe Ward were sold and Charles-Cook recalled. The season then fell apart but we know from last season what happens if you lose your best players… That was also 7 years ago.
He also left Grimsby 9 games into the season they got relegated and was assistant manager. That’s like blaming Tony Sweeney for us getting relegated.
May as well give him a fair shot at it rather than slaughtering him before he’s even started

European performances were the issue at TNS he had a 73% win rate domestically.
Past history means nothing anyway for any manager, it's the present that matters. Let's see what he can do assuming Lennie actually let's him have full rein.

thats true but they all have some positives on their cv to counteract the sackings. sometimes there are really good reasons to sack a manager and some clubs also do well despite their manager. only thing for me is that i could listen to lenny but skippy was like phillips where i lost concentration half way through interviews.

Yes I'm aware of that Reg, though Scotch is how I refer to them when I don't call them sweaties, as it pisses them off (childish, I know - though keeps me entertained) ;)

feel this bloke has been around the club longer than fred westgarth. the games seems to last four times longer anyway and you look at the clock which never seems to countdown as fast as it once did.
