I wish UK or Europe could develop AI and social media platforms that we could effectively regulate to remove terror links and misinformation etc so that we don't have to use the unregulated tech developed in the US. I don't know what the barrier is? I don't want to be held to ransom by Musk, Zuckerberg et al and other Trump cheerleaders. It appears the Chinese developed their AI cheaply and quickly so why can't we?

Why does it have to be one or the other? Both have their own agendas. Musk doesnt try to hide it whereas the BBC pretend they are telling us the truth when their main interest is indoctrination.
