Both concerning parts of last nights game.

1) During the 1st half Daly had the ball by the Family Enclosure and passed the ball what looked to be a few yards backwards. Ali G then ran from what would have been an offside position to collect the pass and was flagged offside. I thought that you could only be offside if the ball was played forward so was the linesman right to raise the flag?

2) In the 2nd half when Liddle made a clearing header nad clashed heads with their centre forward. Obviouslt the rule is the physio comes on so the player(s) have to leave the field until the referee allows them back on. Since they decided their player wasn't able to continue why did the ref allow the subtistute to come straight on the pitch and give them a man advantage? Surely he should have only have been allowed on when liddle was allowed back on

Both points were discussed amongst our little lot on the MH terrace, we came to the conclusion that the ref was a cock

A further question. Why was Darren Williams booked when it wasn't even a foul? He just jumped higher than their player.

He was booked for dissent.

does the rule still apply that allows the referee to put the free kick 10 yards further forward if there is any dissent?

No.

It was scrapped because apparently non-rugby playing nations found it too difficult to comprehend
