Bags of spuds / sprouts / Parsnips / carrots etc. Only 8p a bag in Asda lobby..Not sure what price they are normally but bargain

Not good for small veg shops at a key time of the year.

Apparently certain small shop owners around the town are filling trolleys with bags of spuds and some others for reasons unknown:roll: I heard a member of staff telling two blokes to stop!! She said this is the third time today you two have taken a trolley each full to the brim with spuds. We have decided it's 5 bags per trolley only from now on and if you still want to buy them. One bloke said you cannot stop me buying as many as I like. She got security to show them both out and banned them returning all together.

I know one fruit and veg who closed not so long ago because of a church giving fruit and veg away on a weekly basis.
The big shops is a one off generally speaking.

And Lidl. Wife just bought some!!

I reckon it's probably all the big stores working together to destroy the little fruit & Veg shops. If so you can bet that this time next year the prices of veg will rise rapidly without the little shops.

of course it is like they have done with butchers and independant petrol stations. its a case of save now spend later.

They did the same with milk door delivery, sold milk as a loss leader.
