Says for the size of our club that pitch is shambolic. So its not just a few pools fans who have noticed how far standards have slipped with the pitch

To be fair, it didn't look too bad and at times there was some pretty slick passing football played by both sides, more them than us though. It looked a bit long maybe, but I think it looked a lot worse earlier in the season when we were seeing the players chucking up divots bigger than you see at a soggy Grand National.
No groundstaff forking the pitch at halftime as we've seen in past years mind.

Or maybe he was looking for excuses…..a pitch is the same for both teams good or bad…when the opposition use that as an excuse you can roll your eyes.
If any Pools manager said that after not winning, what would you say……

I wouldn’t imagine the pitches teams train on are very good so playing on a pitch on a match day they must have a better playing surface ?
Off topic Pools used to maintain the pitch at Billingham during the IOR days, I doubt they do now, I think it’s when we had a reserve team ?

Good question. I would say he hasn't done his prep properly. Assuming a club our size looks after their pitch properly is naive.

problem is it does not help when the pitch looks as if there had been a game played on it in the morning. nothing to do with the warm up as thats been going on for years. lots of clubs now whose pitches resemble bowling greens are a mixture of grass and artificial turf.

He did come across as a tit on his interview, apparently we deliberately had the pitch like that as we know what a good footballing side they are etc

Think he’ll be sacked if they don’t go up this year

He had a big rant about the referee as well and about refereeing in general, presumably meaning this league. Couldnt see why their goal was disallowed and mentioned the terrific tackle on the half way line by Jones getting punished with a yellow card as examples. Agree with him about the refereeing Im sure its getting worse in this league. Dunno where they pick them up from.

you know when they have had a bad game when both clubs think they have had a nightmare. he is correct like we are moaning about decisions and cautions against us.

I thought it was a goal but having watched it back a number of times a Barnet player clashes with Young preventing him from getting the ball before in landed on knobhead at the far post. If fact he almost chops Young in half ( not a kick but clumsy foul ) so it was a brilliant call from the referee.

He’s the only manager who’s complained about the pitch for donkeys years,it’s the same for both sides & I bet Barnet have had more games than us called off in the last few seasons.

To be fair he commented when a Pools player got booked he couldn’t see anything wrong with the tackle.
