Post subject: Is It Smart To Be Scruffy????
PostPosted: Wed Sep 13, 2006 5:46 pm
Read this letter in The Daily Mail this morning....

"I spent my working life on a building site in scruffy cement and paint-spattered jeans and shoddy scuffed footwear. I couldn't wait to get home to shower, shave, put on my sharp suit and my one pair of highly polished shoes and hit the town.
Now my Grandson wears a sharp suit to work, comes home and doesn't even bother to shave before putting on a ripped and paint-spattered....but brand new....pair of top-label jeans that cost more than £80, a moth-eaten T-Shirt and a pair of trainers that should have been binned years ago and then he's off out to hit the clubs.
And then there are the girls. They wear a damn sight less to go out clubbing, even in winter, than my wife wears to bed during a heatwave. Phew!"

The last bit....

But I totally agree with the bloke about ripped jeans!!!! :-X :-X

But even worse....in my book....are the 'distressed look' jeans!!!! :-X :-X
I feckin' hate them!!!! :-X :-X :-X

Am I getting old???? :?

What are you doing reading the Daily Mail?? It's right reactionary rag!! It's read by the same people who ring in to Jeremy Vines show on Radio Two to say that crime shouldn't pay and we should bring back hanging. Someone on there wanted to give Saddam Hussein to the people of Iraq so that they could tear him limb from limb.

That's progress hey?? :sweet:

The Daily Mail merely perpetuates false-consciousness. Come the revolution and all that shit...

I read the Daily Mail

PS. I can't get with this torn jeans crap either, and I refuse to pay money for clothes that are already knackered- especially as the intention is to replace my own clothes which are already knackered!!

I've got a couple of pairs of old 501s that I wear for decorating that have holes in and are splattered in paint. Are they cool now?

Shall we all have a dress dead scruffy day for Pools on Saturday?

You just come in your normal clothes Dibble.

And then in your pants when Robson scores a blinder.

I went to a lesbian party in March where all men attending were required to wear a dicky bow. That was the only stipulation. Nothing about wearing trousers, shirts, or any of that shite! Nor any instructions as to WHERE the dicky bow was to be worn.

If it had been a "straight" party would you have felt obliged to include that in your last comment?
