My Sky + box fecked uop yesterday,Ive been on to them, done the software downloads & no joy.
Im gonna ring em back shortly & if they want to send an engineer & expect me to pay the subscription is cancelled.
Anyone got one of those freeview recorders from Asda ?
Do NTL (Virgin) do a HD recorder ?

Now that lost is finished I only watch E4 anyway.

Well would you believe it,
£65 for an engineer to call out.
"No thank you, cancel my subscription" says me.
Pass me to her colleague, who says we'll do it half price
"No thank you, cancel my subscription" says me.
Passes me on to the manager & hey presto the engineers is callin free of charge.

Typical. How many people though wouldn't question it and just automatically pay the original fee?!

my digital tv is with sky. never had any gip with them. started getting loss of pictures in jan.rang them up, that will be your receiver they said, we will get a guy out to fix a new one within a week and refund you 25 bar for the loss of pictures. the bloke who came out gave me a new sky box and remote free and gratis as well as fixing the dish when he come out just in case.

i have me internet with ntl. the service itself is fine, the customer service/billing is godawful.

the bairn has a 23 bar freeview box from asda upstairs in her bedroom and swears by it, though the reeception is sometimes shite on some of the channels. you get games and digital radio on it an all. best 23 bar ive spent in yonks, apart from me 23 bar lawnmower that is.

as i was sayin the other week, you can go in the asda and get a big tv, a portable dvd player, what will also plug into it, and play cds if you want, and a freeview box with about 100 channels for less than 250 quid.

a basic black and white television when i was a kid cost about 5 million quid.

you can even get HD dvd players with freeview integrated

I'll have to try that. The recordings on our Sky+ are sh*te at the moment, I keep meaning to ring them about it, but I can't be arsed with the wait to get through to them. I'm certainly not going to pay for them to put it right.
