How would you rate Manchester United managers from the early 80s to present day on a scale of Ron to Ten?

Well, if it was Hartlepool United managers, I would be interested. Couldn't care less about any other club outside of the town boundary.

Man U are the team that turned football into the present day soap opera for the elite.
The club that attracts football illiterates and first choice of those who know feck all about the games finer points …but love fame and glory.
The exact opposite of Pools fans …..and which is why I find them so irritating and always found the whole Man U soap operas repellent.

Ronnie, world class, in what he did, impossible task to keep us up.
Higgy x 2 okay
DC world class, showing that at Stockport.
KP did okay with the squad he had.
Lennie doing okay

Everyone else where underachievers maybe due to the background of the club or where just pure rubbish.

In my opinion though.

Ronnie's loanies were mint.
Tishbola
Hugiill.
Forgotten the other one sctatchinghead.
Played a major part in the great escape.

DC I agree.

But in general its a hard job being manager of Pools but success brings you a wanted man.

they are a factual soap opera and thats it. never liked em even after the munich disaster and how many other oldies loved it when they got beat in the cup final after that disaster when everyone who had never seen a match loved them. that seemed to start the man.u love affair across the universe and yorkshire.

never missed the bastards that season and always glad when they depart it now. you know now they,ll be playing at home in a televised game from round 3 onwards. its only when they reach the final its a close game for many of their supporters to travel.

And the loids got reinstated after losing their second round game and dropped a plum tie against Aston Villa, in the 3rd round, (if memory serves me correctly?) sctatchinghead

He was indeed.

What was the name of the black centre forward we signed that season - think Ronnie went all the way down to Plymouth to sign him? He wasn't the greatest but he did get a couple of important goals for us? sctatchinghead

Hodcroft made some bad appointments but had some decent ones but certainly not 10 in the short period of time Singh has been the owner.
Danny Wilson for one was one of IOR decent appointments, he didn’t get on with Hodcroft who insisted on a full match report on his desk every Monday morning.

Matt Busby once said that the FA Cup match against Pools was the most exciting game of football he'd seen in his entire life.

And hereby ends my interest in Manchester United.
