Living in York me and my lad took in the York v Barnet game and they are both streets ahead of Pools in every department. I have to say it was a pleasure to watch after thinking that Pools have good players I’m reassessing that rapidly. I am going to the Pools game in a couple with half a dozen York mates in hospitality and am suddenly not looking forward to it after watching that. Let’s hope Pools can put in a performance like last season but from what I’ve watched so far this season me and a lot of Pools fans are in for a hard watch.

York, Barnet and FGR have some very good players - York i did not think had the pedigree but after watching them play, as you will probably agree they are just clicking and really working for each other. That winning mentality is there you can see it. To thrash Barnet aswell whom are also good is a statement. Them or FGR for the title me thinks !

But the table presents a fairer picture.

And we could be bottom four by Sunday.

But also shows things can be turned around quite quickly, York weren't far away from being relegated last season despite having been among the big spenders in the div.
Not saying we are going to turn things around just to be clear.

You watched two teams who are flying and full of confidence. Our players have wasted 2 months playing for a manager who kept trying to push square pegs into round holes with his tactics.

Admittedly Pools have only got a few weeks to start playing to their strengths, but Lenny has more clue than Sarll - he'd struggle to have less - and with a bit of luck the players will be busting a gut to impress a new manager come 9th November.

its always different watching a non pools game as you are not overbothered by the result and is more relaxing. must see more non pools games than most but its a total different experiance. bit like being blown out by a lass you love which is different to one you could not give a damn about doing the same. feel at times those who have no club but turn up for games have it right especially in bad times for a single club fan.

No doubt about the difference in view on the game but I’ve been to three home games this season saw three 0-0 but two sendings off, this was part of Pools purple patch
Forever hopeful like the rest of us.

Both teams were a different level to Pools.

Parkes Stello and the BBC Tees pundits keep telling us how much quality our squad is.

I give them a mini target of 2 wins last week and they failed with flying colours yet again.

Pickled onions eyes football so far.
This hope n bullshit strategy ain't working.

But don't despair it has to end sometime.

I watched the York game and agree they were both very good sides, way ahead of Pools in just about every position. I was never one of those who thought our squad was good enough to make the play offs, we dont have enough pace or skill in midfield and dont have enough players who can score goals.

I'd say we probably do have the skill in midfield, and we definitely have goalscorers, we're just not playing to their strengths.

The ship has to be turned around, the quicker the better and adapting to life after Sarll…basically we’re going to have a situation of getting the show back on the road after the chaos…it won’t happen overnight….but needs to happen quick.

I thought that till I saw two teams with pace and movement, wing backs who took people on with speed and skill, York manager could see an issue after 30 minutes and changed things not waiting till half time. Yes of course they have both got wealthy owners who have spent money but I certainly had my eyes opened to how organised they were, Shelton looks a different player in a team like Barnet.
The defeats I can take it’s the hope that kills you.

havent seen York much but Barent have strengthened from last year and as I said at the start of teh season I will be very surprised if anyone finishes ahead of FGR--they are well backed and have a manager who has been successful before---the signing of Knowles for example was a real statement at this level....amazing what some ambition and investment does
