In fairness we already have a fair few experienced football men whispering in Rajs ear without the tubster adding his voice to the choir while taking a chunk out of the catering budget

His second coming didn’t exactly set the pulse racing.
I suppose I’m the only one who was never impressed first time around as we wasted our chances when we had the backing…always also rans.

Not the year he left for the Wendies. Top of the league when he left. More importantly the side he'd put together was so good that even the Scouse pisshead couldn't blow promotion - though he did blow the title...

Easter? I remember him being very inconsistent.
He did go on to much higher things after leaving pools.

You're right there. Jermaine missed a few sitters and the Poolie faithful decided he was crap. He had a good career with various League One sides when he'd matured a bit.

Can't have been Easter Leggie - he didn't join us till 2001 - the season after the play-off games with Darlo.
He came on as a sub in the home play-off that season against Blackpool and got himself sent off... that was shan enough :(

I thought he had talent but was obviously a bit raw. Nonetheless Turners first spell brought us some cracking players and we saw some great football, especially given that when he arrived we were teetering on the verge of relegation with not too many games to turn things around. After that the upward trajectory took off.

I recall Easter coming on as a sub and the whole crowd just groaned. Not good for a player's confidence.

How many years did it take though.

Aye it was against Blackpool. Easter was woeful at Pools, lots of running around, but that was about it. Think we let him go on a free the season afterwards. Was a different player a couple of years later

I always felt a bit sorry for Jermaine Easter, I remember him fluffing a goal chance in the town end and after it went quiet someone shouted, "fucking ell, he's got his mam's slippers on!!" He heard it...

Pretty sure Tubby brought in Flash, seem to recall they knew each other from Sheff Wed. Could be wrong though.

Paul Smith on the wing- now he was a class act!

Where did he go, after Pools, and why was he let go? Did he sign for the Wendies after Tubby jumped ship?

Would of been a better option than paying LL consultancy fees to continue the cycle of Failurism.
How much evidence is needed that his role at the club is totally irrelevant and a waste of Dosh. :angry-tappingfoot:

I'm sure he played for S Wed's before Pools.
Absolute class act for sure.
CTbuilt a good team in quick time.
The start of our Glory Days

Look at the league one table n there's quite a few x 4th division clubs challenging for promotion to the championship.

Maybe Pools give them the inspiration of what can be done. If you employ the correct people.
Then you don't have to sack a shit load of managers while losing the fan base.

Maybe it's evolution and our younger generation of fans have to show a bit of patience like us middle agers n oaps did.
