Well let's rewind to the summer recruitment.

Every signing made was world class and we've apparently got the best squad non league football has ever had.

All the midfielders strong young n hard as fuck n won't shy out of challenges. The midfield we been craving for for ages.

Dodds n Mancini back to full fitness a massive bonus.

MannyD n Grey not sold jackpot.

2 on loan excellent prospects from the Smoke.

Then add in the best header of a ball apparently  Super G Madine.

BUT the full team have struggled and that reason was 100% down to the Sarly worst manager in the club's history stupid fcuken braindead tactics.

So now our Superstar players have no excuses to go out now n tear this division a new one.

I've set them a mini target of 6 pts from the next 2 games.
Then review it.

UTP.

Maidenhead 1 Pools 3

Kev, if you put a lawn mower engine in an E type…the hype falls away.
Let’s see what a proper manager can do…that’s if we can actually get one.

Keep your hard earned cash in your pocket Kettering  I cannot quite remember the results under Mr.Burns last time but it was nothing special at all. Did he even win a game sctatchinghead He belongs in a care home and should be nowhere near a football dugout.

2-1 defeat with Mr.Burns in charge. But if they put the coach driver in charge I would fancy a 0-2 win.

Maidenhead have won their last 3 league games. And won through in the F.A.Cup game 3-0. It's nowhere near a easy game.

You have to ignore past results in this game and go out to seize a new opportunity….past results of your team or the opposition are history or football would be as boring as feck.

We need updates on Hunter and Madine. Also did Mancini pick up a knock ? why did he go off ? is he injured long term again ?

Also has anyone actually been impressed with Madine in any minutes they have seen him play for us. Hes missed a few sitters for the standard he has been playing at - i expected alot more from him.

Assuming LL lets whatever team he puts out play to its strengths I'll expect some improvement - whether it's enough to win the game is a different matter.

it's the battle of the old gits - Lennie (76) against young whippersnapper Alan Devonshire (68). His Maidenhead side are always horrible to play against on their own patch, so a draw wouldn't be a bad result for Pools.

Yes, groin strain and who knows? - he's only just done it.

Wouldn't have thought there's any chance he'll play on Saturday.

Last season's game there was a poor one towards the end of season. The best thing about visiting them is the Rebellion brewery is nearby and they have it in the ground. That was more likely to attract me to the match than the actual football on offer. Now that Sarll has gone.. it is only 40 mins from home.

I'll vote for 2-1 to Maidenhead based on current form but a much better performance from Pools.

Will be really interesting to see and obviously some kind of fresh start (again). Will it be bootball and not play through midfield. We'll have to wait and see. Hope its chips, its chips. We all hope its chips.

Betting on the outcome of next Saturday's match would be a lot more difficult than picking the Grand National winner. Punters, give it a miss!

They’ve beaten what’s been put in front of them, 2 sides in the bottom 4, one struggling to keep their head above water. On paper it’s got a draw written all over it, if we’re still 9/5 on Saturday I’ll be lumping on that, and the draw as a saver.

normally do not like draws but would take one on saturday as long as we do not throw a two goal lead away just to get it. big wonder if there is a surprise dropping of a player we do not expect to see.

Might as well have kept Sarll on if that's LLs best effort. He talks about what we want in this tough old town and then serves up the same shite as we've made clear is the exact opposite of what we want to see.
After we equalised that game was there for the taking but we settled for a point.
We don't have time to be dicking about with this fella in charge for too long, it's like the pupils had a go and now it's the headmasters turn to bore us all to death and piss us off.

Unbelievable. Sarll was sacked on Wednesday, LL has had 2 days to do game prep, get them recovered from the midweek game and give them information on Maidenhead get them set up to deal with their strengths and work on how to try and exploit their weaknesses.

Do you honestly believe that in those 2 days he could also completely change everything that they have been drilled to do by Sarll in the last 3 months and implement completely different patterns of play?

Of course it was similar to how Sarll played, because they have played that way for the previous 15 games, and have trained that way for the previous 12 weeks. You can’t just flick a switch and suddenly have them playing in a completely different way. It’s not Championship Manager. Jesus wept.

So he's watched every game and didn't think it might be worth picking a side that can play the type of football that we've seen in brief snatches and we've looked good doing it, let's just keep playing Sarll ball Lenny as the season drifts away, there's always next season to look forward too eh? I thought I'd heard the last of the old joke - Hartlepool the place where the football season finishes in October!
Why get rid of Sarll to just pick a similar team and play the same tactics. He's been around long enough to know what works for us and what doesn't but is still stuck in hoofball mode.

He said in his interview that he didn’t expect Campbell and Mancini to be fit enough to start. So if you’re dropping Sloggett, then your options to replace him at Attacking Midfield are Robinson, Charman or Asiimwe.

The other option would be to put Charman on the left, Mathurin on the right and move Grey up front with Mani. Given the very short amount of time they’ve had to work with the players since Sarll went, I doubt they would be able to work on getting them comfortable in a new formation in that time too.

I thought we started off decent, kept it on the floor and played out from the back well. Parkes was unlucky to hit the post. Then we started to struggle to keep the passing going, they closed us down and we started to panic and got it long again, which made us look poor again. Then bringing Mancini and Campbell on gave us an injection, we looked good for 10 mins then they got to grips with us and it all petered out into a draw. It will take a while to remove the instinct to hit it long and to bring back enough movement off the ball to allow us to play the football that we want to see.

With 2 more games in 7 days, I doubt we’ll see a major change in those two either. I think they will want to get the new guy in by the end of this week, have him in the stands for Saturday v Aldershot, then give him the 2 free weeks to get his ideas across, make some changes before the York game.

That’s if they manage to persuade anyone to take the job.

Really the players can't adapt quickly to a new formation and tactics? What happened against Sutton then, 1st half was hoofball then substitutions at half time had us playing out from the back and keeping the ball on the floor and it worked?
My grandkids under 12s can change formation and style quite comfortably so to say that professional managers and players can't is ridiculous. Lawrence says yesterday was a step forward, by what metrics does he base that on? It was bad and in fairness as bad as under Sarll. It'll be a huge step backwards for me if we continue like this as I'll be finding something more worthwhile to do on a Saturday, never thought I'd ever feel this way after 50 odd years. As Snowy said, despair has set in and I can't see it lifting until we get a manager with a different approach.

Jesus wept.

To be fair he has been sat in the dug out watched every match, knows the players etc normally a club gets a bounce after sacking a manager, but not today. Lets see how we do against Altrincham

you might say LL was grasping at the only straw of offer to him as the result was an improvement on tuesday night. cannot comment on how we played as i never saw the game. wonder how many on here and twitter have made comments without seeing it as well.
