It's absolute bollocks that having a mental health episode was considered as mitigation. Don't think there is any evidence that having a mental breakdown turns you into a nonce.

We have offenders getting a third of their sentence for pleading guilty ( never understood that rule, because if you know or expect to be found guilty you might as well cough up surely?)
Then we come to remorse of an offender, but the offender is hardly gonna say he was proud of what he did was he?
Mental health, anxiety, vulnerability in prison seem to be wheeled out with varying degrees in these crimes almost as the norm, but surely with something lasting years one must ask why they did not seek help earlier….?

Surely if you think you'd be vulnerable in prison you don't do anything that will put you there? It's called a deterrent.
Break the law and face the punishment if you get caught.

And now he gets to keep his 300k a year pension.
Most probably a few palms creased to stop that above suggestion of why the sentence was light.

after listening to all that it makes me more annoyed that he didn,t get banged up. if it had been anyone of us saying the same as edwards did we know we,d have been banged up possibly in the appropriate sounding strangeways. we have always had 2 tier justice. one for us and the opposite for the rich and famous.
