The young lad on one wing and Joe on the other. That's a positive move that should show more attacking play and goals. The bench is really strong

hmm
Attack (or should that be defence) of the clones in midfield with Hunter, Sheron and Sloggett, one of those has to be benchd for a more attack minded player so Mani D not so isolated

I would have given Campbell a go....nothing in the team selection that suggests Sarll wants to go more attacking or creative unfortunately

Agree with Mathurin starting, looked very promising when he came on on Saturday. Charman also played well when he came on, looked much better than Gray out wide - I can only assume he isn’t fully match fit yet…

Don't agree Loyal. I think Sloggett is that player box to box the other two winning the ball and supplying the attacking players.

I wouldn't expect Gray to lose his place to anyone. He is a terrific player and destroyed Woking until the sending off. It would be extremely unfair to drop him. Probably one of the handful of players who keeps on performing game on game.

if we lose tonight I want him gone...holding us back--workman like midfiled and getting passed around by Boston, enough is enough

The 1st half was absolutely bollocks.
Hopefully Sarly privately admits major defeat in that horrendous long ball shit won't get promotion.

Creditdue for the 2nd half like.
Maybe the penny has finally dropped.

Like I said before game Rectification is allowed.

Now try playing FOOT ball from the 1at minutes to last.
That's our strength with the players we have.
Apply the skill factor.
We not Woking or Yeovil.

UTP.

Well he got taken off so he can’t of played that well. Grey is an inside forward for me and not a winger. The problem on Saturday for over an hour and for the first half tonight is that front three we are playing with is too stretched, with players on each flank and the central attacker isolated in the middle. Only when he changed it with Campbell on Saturday and Mancini tonight did we look more balanced…

Spot on about Grey there. He always seems to be the one to make way when he’s arguably our best player.

Hopefully it turns out that Sarll has realised that Mancini is a game changer when played more centrally rather than isolating him out on the wing.

its absolutely obvious now and paramount that the French curly haired wizard has to play ! Id like to still see Grey or Campbell up top with Mani D and not those 3 in the midfield like last night - amazing how one player can change the dynamic. The team is still adjusting i get that but nearly getting beat off Boston and drawing at Home to Braintree still isnt good enough for me. The lads we have available to us off the bench are probably the best set we have had for about 25 years or more easy - many of those players walk into other first teams for sure. Parkes again outstanding and should we loose him and have to gamble on Mani O then thats also a worry like so i wouldnt mind another very good CB being in the club - tbh one to replace Waterfall (hes not that good anymore anyways). Charman coming into the side again along with Dodds will keep us nicely in the top 7. York and Rochdale looking like early leaders in the pack now too. FGR staking a claim which was always going to happen aswell - Sutton with a harsh welcome back !

Just on the CB options, we have Waterfall, Parkes, BSD, Onarise, Dodds, Hunter and Sheron, that should be sufficient cover for 2 positions. Once Dodds and Waterfall are back, then Onarise won't even get a place on our bench, I don't think that we will find someone better than Onarise who would be interested in joining and not making the matchday squad most weeks.

In what parallel universe did we 'nearly get beat off Boston'? They took a very early lead and never looked like scoring again till the closing stages of the game. Pools were in front from the 61st minute.

The draw with Braintree was down to Waterfall getting himself himself sent off in the 34th minute. We beat Boston comfortably and should have beaten Braintree - almost certainly would have done with 11 on the pitch to the end.

Neither result will budge Sarll from his conviction that the easiest way to win games is to stop the opposition from scoring. He's interested in efficient football, not expansive football.

Mancini probably gets a start on Saturday in place of Sloggett, but if there are any other changes they'll be down to injuries.

Expect Mancini for Slog as you say, hard to justify any others but hope Dodds makes the bench

Easiest way to win is to end the hoof all shit.
Let's remember it took 2 bits of league one level individual brilliance to get a 1 goal win at Boston.
We certainly didn't destroy them or win comfortably in the end.

No guarantees in football shudda wudda cudda.
But certainly have a better chance to win playing pass the ball try n retain it for more than 30 seconds football.

Would like to see Young in goal at Ebbs fleet
.
UTP.

facts are all there to prove this. a 2 goal lead at woking by playing football and tuesdays comeback by playing the same. the rest of the season has been a non event plus three backs to the wall performances due to stupid sendings off with points dropped. we need to play to our full strengths the whole side posesses and not half of it.
