Left Pools went to Partick thisle but according to Wikipedia he never played or scored sctatchinghead Anyway released in January now signed a short term deal at Eastleigh. Good player at certain times but one of the two who refused to toe the line back then. I wonder if he can disrupt Eastleigh like he did at Pools.

refred Pea hearted charlatan - it's just a pay cheque for him- reckon he'll get some stick if he plays against us. He certainly deserves it. He'd have earned a longer term deal somewhere by now- if he wasn't such a twat!

Sylla is a regular starter at Dundee, & having said that I don't recall them subbing him either

a name that should never be mentioned when talking about mcdonald. two completely different animals in every respect. nobody outside the club knows the full facts regarding mo at pools but i,m sure the problem could have been handled better or differently. one thing we haven,t replaced him yet but sloggett might do.

during a small period in JA's turnaround - he used Mcdonald to great effect as the super sub. Sometimes it paid off and he looked a real good tricky 5 minute man. Oddly on one of my travels back from the smoke he was on the same train as me heading north back to Durham after an away game (sure it was Gillingham away). Weird as he should of been on the team coach with the rest of the lads?

Partick
4 league games, 1 SFA Cup game all as substitute
1 start in Challenge Cup.
The manager said he had been tracking him for 2 years so didn't take long to annoy them!

Hopefully he will get a longer contract at Eastleigh then destroy the camaraderie.

Wes McDonald is the sort of player who confirms all your worst prejudices about wingers - one trick show pony, in the game for 10 minutes if you're very lucky.

This clip is from 2020 but I think that referring to Wes as a show donkey is very unfair. He's got pace and talent and I wish we could have brought him on for the last ten minutes against Halifax at the weekend.

can any club afford a player on the books who has a couple of odd flashes of brilliance in a game. a type who would flourish if we had rolling subs. bring him on to change the game and if he does take him straight off again.

I guess it's human nature to remember the times a player stood out rather than the ones when he was anonymous.

McDonald looked like one of Pools' best players under hopeless Hartley, scored a couple of goals too. But he never made the same impact in umpteen substitute appearances for Curle and Askey. You'd get a couple of promising runs with the ball - usually in the first couple of minutes of him coming on - and zero end product.

He reminded me of Jack Compton - another Pools winger who had talent but no appliction.
