Finally stopped it by going onto the Royal Mail website and opting out.

It's sound for burning etc Problem is the government wanted to protect the ozone layers and said it would look at reducing junk mail for starters. They give a huge figure of posted junk mail per year and although I cannot recall the figure I do remember thinking WOW that's crazy. The government wanted to chop down less trees so it was a perfect solution to a ongoing problem. So what changed I can tell you the changes made allowed even more junk mail and the Royal Mail was allowed to set up contracts which now gets them paid per unit ( house ) to post this trash through your letter boxes.
The same thing happened regarding obese children and getting them fit and off takeaways etc Along comes covid and guess what instead of limiting the major companies from advertising they left it alone and then started ' just eat " and " deliveroo " etc. No wonder people struggle with such confusing messages from our own government.

I did that but they seemed to overlook it after a few months, I also want a ban on people putting fliers through the door for take always etc.

I think it only works for Junk Mail addressed to you (and only seems to work for a limited time). The hundreds of leaflets that are pushed through the door by the postie on his round still turn up as there is no way he'll know who has opted out.

could not care less myself. prefer seeing junk mail than listening to junk phone calls if you answer by accident.

Not all are charities some are scammers who sell the stuff on for their ‘own’ charity.

even if genuine it would be nice to know the percentage of your donations that actually go to those the charity says it supports. the reason i never buy a poppy.

do not know which is the worse that or the parcels meant for you that get delivered and accepted at another similar address to yours. got a neighbour who is in for a big shock next month and i,ll keep you posted due to their actions.
