Our new Labour council have apparently doubled the rents and imposed a £25 service charge with further increases over the next two years. Surely not?
Will it be too much for the raggy lads who’ve been there for years but ideal for those aspiring ‘Good Life’ luvvies to give it a go as it’s become popular amongst that sort.
Bikes out, Bragwagons in.
But ….it’s been cancelled …will the WFA end up the ….it seems very popular with them.

I would imagine in years to come if the council keep increasing the rent and service charge people will walk away leaving the council with prime building land.

well round my area allotment holders are forbidden to sell on any produce to anybody and have to either dump it or give it away. another little perk gone for no reason i can think of. councils i,d shit em all and its one payment i hate paying more than the rest including the tv licence giving money to ameteurs who tell me how to live my life. had it in years of work and now every day away from it.

Why would someone who tends an allotment be penalized for helping the environment.

That’s a good point as well, if you look at most allotment sites they must be worth a small fortune in a lot of their locations, not that I’m advocating it for one minute as there’s something slightly eccentric but reassuringly normal about them. We have allotments near us and a bloke with an old bike with supermarket basket tied on the back passes our house with just a cabbage in the back every Sunday when in season.

ask bradford council. there will be some dubious health and safety decision some where down the line or the plants being the wrong size and shape with a greengrocer on the council who might lose a bit of custom.

I used to go into a florists/greengrocers who had to stop selling veggies and fruit as a local church was giving them away for free..the shop is empty now.
