never a truer word was said by the pm at the time that we never had it so good. in the 65 years since that film what have we got. knife crime, mass drug use, a gambling epidemic and mass immigration with the best leaders of the two main parties being sunak and two tier keir. even the game we love has been sanitised out of all recognition. can anyone who was alive in 1959 tell us a positive we now have over those days.

Dogs stopped eating bones because butchers started to charge for them and the owners wouldn’t pay for them.Morrisons ell them or used to.

Hands up…I was bitten on the knee by one on the knee when I was five…luckily my great Aunts Fox Terrier shot out and scattered it.

To answer Mr Accy’s post you must be of a certain age to be able to compare life style then and life now.
What one person considers marvellous another can equally dismiss easily ….it’s a personal choice/opinion.

At 11 yrs old during my paper round 3 of them attacked me in a garden and went mad because I had the bag. One was white and the leader of this pack of 3. No collars nothing just left to wonder and attack people. I was badly bitten all over and needed stitches on my head. I curled up in a ball and was facing the bow window of the house I had just posted the mail to. I was shocked to see the owner a man aged 30/40 watched the dogs trying to rip me apart and simply shut the curtains. banghead The police came out ( they used to in those days ) and warned the owner to keep them under control. It didn't make any difference though because the white one seen me from 100 yards away and chased after me with the other 2 when I went to school. I changed my paper round with a lad who said it won't bother me he will kick them to death. Day one and two he came back laughing saying you must have upset them because they leave me alone. Day three in hospital serious facial injury and a torn nut sack. Total of 50 odd stitches and left the job. This time the Police took the foookers away and put them down. Nowadays the owner would be jailed and rightly so.

back then you,d have done the same thing face to face either in a pub, the workplace or the playground. then your words would have been said to people you actually know who were your friends. nowadays people have friends they could not recognise or put a face to. thats a real positive thats close to having an imaginary friend at 6 years old.

The trouble with social media message boards is you build a mental picture of people based on their posts, you even build get to assume a persons appearance that might not really correspond to the character on line.
A bit like pen pals years ago.

Well I’m ginger and like my hair cut close, 5.11 well built (not fat)and wrote the medium sized estate car off…but the wife has an i10 so we just use that …didn’t see the point of buying another car and 70….but our lass says 14.
