I can’t remember watching this one before, it only takes you up to the Harold Hornsey days, are any of the Bunkerites in it ? Gibson maintains Pools made a profit every season, it was just cash flow problems they had ?

The Millhouse toilets.
Piss against the wall to create a smelly river.
And no poo toilets.

Happy days.
And the 90/91 promotion season.
Awesome.

It got bad now n again.
But we never became proud members of non league.
I absolutely hated that sign post at the car park which might still be there.

HUFC.
Proud members of the Vanarama League.

Ah, the good old days of winding up orders and the threat of expulsion from the football league.
Like it or not at least we've been financially stable for a good while now, apart from the short period before Raj stepped in. And wether we like it or not automatic promotion / relegation to and from this shitty league beats the old system, and had re-election continued I'm certain we would've been expelled years ago. At least promotion back to efl is a possibility, don't think there was ever a club expelled after not being re-elected having been brought back into efl - 5 expelled, 2 got back via promotion.

: I've mentioned it a few times on here.
But that Paul Baker equaliser at York in the FA Cup will always stay in the memory. 88ish.

1300 Poolies going absolutely ballistic in the 89th minute.

A lot of the IOR ‘recruits’ would be shitting themselves and if we had the bunker then the circuits would melt down in outrage…or would it….?
Back then they’d have taken the piss and rode the wave.

since the days of automatic promotion/relegation without checking up i do not think we have been a basket case we have previously been who were bloody lucky to keep our league status years before. at least the old system did not give the league bankrolled clubs and those from the south that give the traditional lower league clubs their lowest attendances. i,d guess now that pools at home would be more interesting for a tranmere fan than bromley will be or harrogate who have hung about for a few years due to an owners bank balance.

Enjoyed watching that, thanks for posting the link.

Certainly gives some context regarding how we are now versus some of the previous financial rollercoaster rides

Fact is, back then fans were passionate but they had a different attitude because they had little in some respects to shout about and made the most of the good times when they came along….there was only the footy Mail to vent your feelings to and usually two letters a week printed and they were fairly tame …so the ‘meeeja storm’ was a touch muted
