Our crowd may have been down on the previous game but we had the largest crowd of the day by around a thousand :
Pools 3600
Rochdale 2500
Sutton 2600
Alot of the others got less than 1,500

Just goes to show, we really shouldn’t be in this god awful league , the support deserves so much more

Agree.
But them pesky doomies can't engage their brains into that simple philosophy.

Talking about crowds did anyone notice in Div 2 that Bradford City got 6001. A great crowd if Pools had it but Bradford? Usually up to 16-18,000 for home games. Was there any sort of subsidy going on with tickets? Any one know why?

They sold 13000 season tickets, I think the report missed a 1 off the attendance figure maybe ?

If only it was so simple that the teams with the highest attendances get the best results. If that was the case we'd have finished 5th last season and incidentally Man Utd would have won the PL with West Ham runners up and Spurs 3rd, Man City would have been 6th.

Haven't come across were its crowds only.
But if we had 1000 fans like Gateshead instead of 4000.
Failure would be down to crowds.

It's a debate that will always have fans singing of different hym sheets which ain't a problem.
It's all about opinions.

far too much is made about our attendances being better than most in this league. gate receipts are only part of the revenue clubs bring in and is our money in other areas better than what the rest bring in. somehow i doubt it and thats not a knock about our owner either.

Bit of competence behind the scenes and you never know.

At the moment it looks like behind the scenes is working OK. Signings so far, based on where the players are being signed from, would suggest that a decent budget is in place On the pitch we're doing OK but lacking quality, improve in that area and I believe better results will come. A pacy winger or even Charman and Dodds back will help massively imo.

If crowds went down to 1500 everyone would say well no wonder we cant afford such and such. How long before its highlighted in the programme about crowds being down?

In some aspects it is working OK. Not sure that looming debt is OK though but apart from that lurking elephant it's OK. Sarll and his players are still to prove themselves though but they have not had a decent chance to as yet. Only time will tell. As for the signings, pretty boggo signings for NL. Nowt flash. Doesn't really say much either way for the playing budget other than we are no Chesterfields (which is fine).

You beat me to it Impy. On the face of it we’re functioning normally but we have huge debt hanging over us. Generally fans are burying their heads in the sand (perhaps understandably) but huge issues lie ahead.
I don’t really think the club under his leadership has maximised commercial income either. There are a succession of pissed off former sponsors and look at the central area of the CK stand on Saturday - practically empty.
Then there are empty walls which used to have sponsors logos. All very worrying.

Not all of that is rajs fault though we seem to have a few in the club that like getting their pics taken but dont seem to bring much to the club unless im missing what they actually do.

Yes it is worrying and I too do not blame people for just simply trying to enjoy having a club to support for however long that might last.

There are aspects of the club that are still chaotic.peehaps Raj thinks that he'll have to pay more to recruit the right people to run things well. Perhaps he's just had a nightmare and his staff, recruited in good faith, are letting him down. Either way it needs sorting if we are to be as self sufficient as we possibly can be.
