Can't knock anyone after a signing like this. I'm sure he's eager and hungry to play and get goals after being out for some time. Like stated, he won't have come cheap

Cracking signing if he is fully recovered and when fit, should destroy defences at NL level.

Fair play Pools! Get him fit and he’s surely adding 10 to 15 goals to the goals for tally this season?

Great signing but no surprise. It's been clear for some time now Sarll has changed the club's scattergun recruitment approach.

You can't knock the man at the top for being shit then not give him credit for his part in good things like this happening. Well done Raj for setting up a recruitment team and manager that can pull this off. Now let's make it more than just a flash in the pan.

Do we know how fit he is ? Is it like dodds, ie fit bit introducing him slowly ? Or does he have a way to go
Wonder if his pay is heavily based on appearances given age and injury ?

He definitely fits into Sarll style of play so it’s a coherent signing at least

One of the Heed fans I have been talking with knows the family and he said Gary told them on Saturday he was signing for Pools. Only slight concern is he said Gary loves the lash.

He said he is being looked after by Danny and was told 2 weeks before he can play. But Gary said he was itching to play and will push for quicker.

Nah, he’s only come to graze on the pitch..ffs stop looking for what can go wrong, accentuate the positive.

Don't think it's any secret he likes a drink, he assaulted a bloke in a pub years ago, then was jailed for assaulting 2 guys in 2 separate clubs on the same night (broken nose for one and fractured cheek for the other), and was allegedly drunk when he failed to stop his car and legged it getting another jail sentence (suspended).
As long as he stays out of jail, gets fit and starts to bang the goals in on a regular basis for us who cares about his penchant for a pint?

I honestly wish I was as excited about this as everyone else. On paper great but can’t help feeling he’s had a serious injury with no idea what level he’ll get back to. Plus he’s had a long lay off.
Listened to his interview, which was a good listen acknowledging past mistakes, but clearly he’s still weeks off, with a fitness programme provided by Danny.
Is he going to play 90mins every week… that’s a gamble and in the meantime he’s on big money.
He could be another Flash, in which case it’s tremendous business but I get the feeling his game relies on fitness over technique.
Time will tell and it goes without saying, I really hope this comes off.
Also hope Raj isn’t thinking of selling someone to fund this.

Let's pretend he will only ever be fit to play 30 mins a game, he will destroy teams at this level in the last 30 minutes of games. If you look at his record of over 500 games mostly in Championship some in Premier rest in League One. He has 5 promotions to his name has always kept himself fit. The lad is a winner in anyone's eyes and he is a massive coup ( even at 33 yrs ) for a team at this level especially Pools. Going by this record and commitment to clubs he shows he actually loves the game. He also said his mam loves watching him and can now come to all home games. He will not let us down on the pitch and I am confident he will be fully fit and raring to go in 2 weeks. Remember when we beat Blackpool in the cup he came on at 2-1 down having just got back from injury and he knocked our defenders over like skittles he is extremely dangerous in the box. He had a 52% record in the Championship in 22/23 for the most headers won.

Haha. It would be boring if we all had the same opinions! It’s just we’ve been bitten before. I, like you, desperately hope this is inspired.
I was so on here for years before getting out of the habit and actually everyone seemed to leave and it died a bit. Not a clue what my login details were so just started again. Defo not a loid but am an undercover copper but don’t tell anyone. :shhh:

Well done Pools- knew it was a done deal, as Mr Porter & Boyd didn't announce it!

This is a superb signing and a real statement of intent, to add to the other excellent new additions.

Madine is a proven goalscorer at higher levels and is as hard as nails.
Just imagine being an opposition defender, seeing Mani D being subbed off, only for Madine to replace him for the last 20 mins or so!

Think we just need a tricky winger, who is capable of providing some quality ammo to the front men and decent cover at left back, for Fergie. Think the keeper situation will be resolved by a Prem loan- maybe the kid from Everton, though doubt that will happen before the transfer window shuts.

We just need a bit of LUCK keeping them all fit and suspension free, and we could be on the verge of lift off! rolf

Not a clue what your log in details were???? really ???? I thought I recognised your "style" when you reappeared but can't, as yet, put my finger on it.
You're the first one in my experience who can't remember his original log in so please forgive me for saying I just don't believe that. Just come clean man, nobody is going to eat you.
You were on here for years but can't remember who as.

“He’s on big money” who knows what he’s on? Next we are paying peanuts and can’t compete with clubs getting 1000 gates. You just can’t win on here.

think we all know of players who liked a few pints. the ones i know who did were actually some if not the best trainers as they and everyobe at the club knew they their lifestyle.

The most famous was Georgie Best. Drunk most nights in his nightclub entertaining then come in and do two sessions as apposed to one that the rest did. I remember the groundsman at the training camp saying he had a set of keys made for bestie because on two afternoons a week he trained with the kids then did his second session of ball control dribbling cones and running miles around the out door running track.

if it wasn,t drinking the lads back then were either shagging anything in sight or down the bookies slashing out their wages. some has all of the three problems.

Madine assaulted those 2 blokes over ten years ago.

Are you a Darlow fan hoping he fails. How come you only joined a few months back are you a undercover loid.

:shhh:

Not a clue what your log in details were???? really ???? I thought I recognised your "style" when you reappeared but can't, as yet, put my finger on it.
You're the first one in my experience who can't remember his original log in so please forgive me for saying I just don't believe that. Just come clean man, nobody is going to eat you.
You were on here for years but can't remember who as.

True story! Be a very weird thing to say otherwise tbh. Boyd’s/Boyds/Boydys Pet Seagull maybe? Started posting again as the number of contributors increased, although could do with more Ricky Martin/Bread/Socks chat and bring back the traditional bunker welcome.
Nice to know I have a recognisable ‘style.’
