Oh dear ...shambles by Altrincham. Gifted them a 3 goal lead from nothing. The defence looked like they had never kicked a football. They sort of tried to play out and Sutton just took the ball off them and scored the 3 goals. I would say Pools close down better than Sutton on that one game so hopefully we play them soon. They got a needless penalty and a very good late header. What's happened to Altrincham sctatchinghead And no Tom Crawford did nothing bad he just had no one to pass forward toand ended up just scratching his head. The sort of performance that either makes or brakes your season , will be interesting to see their next game. As for Sutton I was expecting to see a super performance when I seen it was 5-0 win. However I can now mark that down as suicide by Altrincham so maybe Sutton are not that good afterall.

Altrincham play out from back, like Gateshead. It can be rewarding but when it goes wrong it ends up like this.

Credit to Sutton for realising that if they pressure high up the pitch Altrincham would fold.

As long as we don't get a number of key injuries I can't see us getting dicked 5-0 this season.

Agree Bosh I would be surprised if we got dicked by any score line. I reckon we will top the clean sheets all season.

Flyde winning 0-2 at Eastleigh got beat 4-2. Flydes top player now scored 5 in two games. Eastleigh look really strong

true, but cannot see us dicking anyone by that score either.

One goal and a clean sheet is all that is required for 3 points.

Yeh Alty wont be anywhere near the team they where last season - they played their wildcard and had Clark scoring their goals who has now departed - unfortunately replaced with Crawford. The merry go round of chances we see each season in this league - Maybe its Eastleighs turn or an Aldershots this season ?

The way we are setup at the minute we are going to be that team that either grinds a 1-0 out or see us draw alot of games. We will be that team thats hard to play against - showed that with 10 men at weekend which was class. But we do need more to offer to Mani D and dare i say it a player to challenge for his space in the side (hoping thats Madine). But Grey isnt working for me - he would be better coming on as a sub and been a very good impact winger/striker. Charman unfortunately looks to have badly sprained that ankle by what im hearing which is him out for a good couple of months if not longer by time rehab back into the team takes place. Shit this luck we have - already entering the season with Dodds back on the sick and now Charman who the latter started to look like just the winger / attacker we have been missing.

Wonder how we setup tomorrow night - will Sloggett be available ?

great, but who else apart from that arsenal side years ago did that with any real long term success. its football also for the most committed and is hardly going to encourage fans to turn up on a cold tuesday night watching a side keeping the other at bay and nicking a goal to win.

the big downside in getting back is this sky deal where we,d get even more 12.30, 5.30 saturday ko with game moved to friday night and sunday for the tv company. not as exciting a prospect than it was 12 months ago unless you are an armchair fan only.

tbh the very rare occassion Pools would get on the TV and us change to a Friday night game or say early Saturday kick off would suit me down to the ground - i used to love our friday night fixtures then i had the weekend to meself or do other stuff.

albeit i have kids now but wouldnt bother me in the slightest

an away game on a sunday be not too bad as id probs go down day before if needed too

we would get the same number of games as the rest in div.2. there will be winners like you but plenty of losers as well. do not do night games now myself and 12.30 is a rush to come up once the mornings get darker as dogs body needs his walk. mind you not everyone has a two hour drive to make.
