Greg Olley one of the best players in this league ( hattrick 1st game season ) plays for Heed. Yesterday the poor lad got a double fracture and twisted ankle. That could well be the end of his career  Last week their best defender Grayson was injured and that could be a bad one. Sounds like us last season top unbeaten then our best two players out for the season. Yes we have a couple of injuries but always some club worse off.

Shows the risks they put themselves under, hopefully the lad can recover, a mainstay of Gateshead midfield.

We are collecting a few injuries as well, suspect not being at full fitness early in season doesn't help.

What I find interesting this season is in both games it was very physical but not dirty. This could be the reason for more injuries per game etc. Yesterday we got two players with cut heads and one off injured. Going by just two games into the season it appears that a lot of clubs have sussed out the only way to play in this league is the Sutton way. If that's the case all clubs might need a squad of 30 plus players.

Lets be honest injuries are part of the game and you hope your team dues not loose its better player long term as we did last season . The thing that concerns me is the amount of bookings we are getting each game needlessly both for dissent and tripping or kicking the ball away platers like Joe Grey who never got booked are already on 2 bookings. These bookings will soon mount up and suspensions will follow, have a word Mr Sarll you want controlled aggression not reckless, cut out the back chat and kicking the ball away, all needless bookings.

with the types of them like stephenson got yesterday it gives ammunition to those who want a big squad. i,d guess many others are getting them the same in the present climate and the ones with the bigger squads will suffer the least. you wouldn,t mind if it was a kicking game anymore but its far from it and is not making a match more exciting by the refs approach.

Got to have a big squad its blatantly obvious to see after 2 games. Suspensions will crop up quickly this season, referees seem card happy.

Just watched the footage and must say I have never seen a ambulance on the pitch for injuries they had two on the pitch so a really really nasty injury. The challenge if you can call it that was terrible and he didn't even say sorry to the lad. One other note from the highlights Woking look a horrible nasty dirty team. A better referee would surely have sent more off for intent to end a player. banghead

We might be able to loan some players from Chelsea, they currently have 42 players signed up.

If we do get loans this season (which wil happen even if DS doesnt like it) we know they will be of decent standard and probably have some non league experience too

Hard to make a case for any club to send their young technical players to us the way we play

they are the last type of player we need. by the end of the transfer period in the efl i,m sure there will be some experianced players about that lower league clubs would be prepared to loan out as there game time will be limited due to the signings they have made.

i think this is what DS will be looking at - either some seasoned pros wanting game time or coming back from injury but still fit enough to play and get back upto speed or even those finding themselves out in the cold and just wanting away so will look for a loan out for say the season or 6 months
