Not really sure what you are trying to say. Are you saying that Covid was simply the flu and that those who died of it should have just manned up and taken a Lemsip?

Reading those statistics the way they’re presented it’s the only conclusion you could come.

History shows that for Covid we should have effectively shielded the most vulnerable while for everyone else life should have been as normal. Maybe not the way we should handle future epidemics?
Definitely a good "dress rehearsal" for government to introduce basic martial law at very short notice though.

looking at how the labour party have acted recently we could have had lockdowns on steroids if they had been in charge. some of the measures were laughable and anyone not following the party line were either silenced or castigated as conspiracy theorists or vacination deniers. since the end there cannot have been in life where real illnesses have occured to younger fit people who bought into the vacination programme. next time we will not have the option to say no and dissenters might be banged up where false information only applies to one side of the debate.

I think governments were damned whichever way they went. I haven't seen conclusive evidence one way or the other that lockdown was not the right thing to do.
