Scored a stunning hattrick yesterday against Solihull. The first was superb individual class. The second a cleaver free kick but the third from way way out was a beauty. He is 29 yrs old and yet another player like ManiD who started scoring in his late twenties. If he had been doing this type of scoring at a much younger age he would now be in one of the top two divisions in my opinion. Yes it's only one game but go over and see the goals he is going to be a real danger with that skill and confidence now. Sorry can't do links etc Also Rodney scored 2 good finishes for Rochdale and will be another to look out for this season.

houghton is one players who is regularly mentiond that clubs are looking at. nothing seems to go further than that for some reason which is rare in the non league player merry go round.

A player I'm surprised hasn't moved up the leagues, even at 29 I thought a L2 club would take a punt on him.

a couple of seasons as a young league player with fleetwood then years of non league mainly with fylde. he is actually the same age as that waste of a wage one we signed from chorley who made fondop look a good signing.there is usually a reason why players like that have missed out as we have all said somewhere in the past why is a player like that playing for that load of crap.

pity i do not know anyone in the game anymore to answer that. back in the day i knew somebody who when i mentioned andy linigan before he left pools who said he was at pools longer than he should because he could be too used to losing. make of it what you like as i never got it but that person had more international caps than me so what do i know.

There’s usually something that puts the handbrake on moves, what it is we’ll never know.

sometimes players get comfy - if hes local too ?

Campbell even said himself he plays better when hes happy at home - dont think he was too happy down south and things like that can really affect your game.

he was great last season Nick - finished strong and had a cracking game against us too - i said this at the time that him and Conn Clarke would be playing higher up next season - the latter i got correct but surprised to still see him at Fylde like... never say never though as plenty of window left for someone to be keeping tabs on him and especially after that performance.

houghton was born just outside manchester and has spent his career in the north west with fleetwood being the furthest away from his birthplace. cannot blame him or anybody being a homebird now as i was never happy living in the midlands or east anglia myself.
