For me it was:

Luke Charman.

He played really well and he is not yet fully fit. I know D.S. really likes the lad and is certain he will be a huge player for us this season But my choice was the very impressive young lad called Doddsy. This lad can do anything he dresires in football ( in my opinion) and play whatever level he pushes himself to play. A truly top quality player with amazing attitude and nowhere near the finished article. He pushed himself back before time and is 20% fitter now than before his injury last season. A remarkable achievement from a player the club loves and the fans will really enjoy this season.

No argument from me on that score, Apart from MOM imo

I liked Campbell putting himself about all the time.

Campbell is what I call a ghost player. He is involved in everything good we do and works his arse of for the team but doesn't jump out at you when watching the game. That makes him extremely dangerous to the opposition. A little bit like a top scorer not getting involved then suddenly wham bam thank you mam.

Gotta be Dodds for me, the lad has everything, the way he covers his central defenders, he was up against a decent forward today and he gave him nothing. Always wanting to get forward also, terrific player.

Got to agree about Dodds covering of the back line, Was exceptional today.

Is he as quick as he was before the injury?

Luke Waterfall was immense until he went off injured.

And the new player sass did a really good job when he came on. What I have noticed now we have some real defenders is ManiO looks very poor. Seems to not understand his position and always makes a cock up when he comes on. Maybe I am being a little harsh but the better defenders make him look less than good enough now. Nearly every pre season game he played he looked out of place or vulnerable Maybe he has no confidence after loosing his place and no club wanting him in the summer.

Manni O is mentioned on here for being responsible for an incident near the end of the match which almost cost us a goal. Is that "slagging off" or reasonable criticism? Let the people decide.

I’m a goaly, albeit an old one and it’s a responsibility of the keeper to communicate and be aware of where your defenders are. So Dixon should have shouted goalkeepers ball as loud as he could before punching or catching the ball. Dixon did have a good match and it was the only mistake he made. So, don’t want to be too critical.

Dodds was immense yes - you can see another Sterry coming about. The lad is levels above this. Ill enjoy him whilst he is with us.

Campbell - Charman - Hunter - Grey all put shifts in and showed us how well the manager as recruited this season - Albeit Grey. But again what a player this young lad is turning out to be - he will only get better this season and under DS fitter and stronger for sure.

i think we will all fall in love with the midfield of this team again and have our faves - something i cant say ive had since Sweeney was in the team tbh.

its great when you get over half the team being contenders for that honour instead of one stand out player amongst the dross.
