We've got 11 on the field and 10 subs in a friendly so what's the problem?

That’s with 6 trialists

Parkes goal sounded very similar to Micky Nelson's goal at Peterborough which left their keeper grasping at fresh air. We also need other players scoring and not just relying on Mani and the forwards all the time.

His nurse isn’t available today.

Presume the trialist GK isn't Smith with Sarll saying we're not signing him?

He closed down the midfielder around 30 yards out won the ball then moved forward 5 yards and curled a beauty into the top left corner. Brilliant finish but not as good as Nelsons.

Two things about that day in Peterborough it was very hot and Neal Cooper kept giving the players water from bottles in an old fashioned milk bottle carrier, they ran out of cold drinks at the away end. If I remember Nelson goal was a volley. We won 4-3 and all our goals were scored by debutants.

Wasn't at the game today but some names I've seen are mottley Henry who scored the third. Full back called Richard Chin, former Charlton kid and Deon Moore, Guyana international who left Sutton, seems like he impressed quite a lot. Sass Davies came on as well. Not sure on the others.

Add Smith in goal, and that was all of them.

Mottley-Henry started on the right wing

Deon Moore was the sub striker

Chin was the sub right back

Sass-Davies was the big blonde sub defender

Adam Smith was the sub keeper

I attended today and was pleasantly impressed. Played some good stuff. The Irishman hobbled off very gingerly and I would expect an x ray but fingers crossed.
Three excellent goals, a clean sheet as well.
I thought Dodds was outstanding.
The guy who scored the third, a triallist, had a good game and worked his bollocks off.
A very snappy midfield who were relentless when out of possession, with a determination to get the ball back, which was pleasing to the eye. Campbell is going to cause problems with his tenacity.
We've got the makings of a good side in my opinion. There was no let up and little or no disruption with the amount of subs. Not one slouch on display.
Enjoyed watching that.
Went by train. Left the house at five to ten and walked back in at eight thirty.
Raj and Walter Mitty Shithead were present and in each other's company, sat quite near to where I was. I think Raj was impressed with what went on, judging by his reactions.
Only a friendly granted but there are good vibes coming across.
We'll see.

Yes, seeing Sarll's style of play in action is a breath of fresh air, isn't it?

Might get along to the Scunny game on Tuesday night now - favourites for promotion out of the NLN so it should be a decent game. They blew automatic promotion right at the death last season.

I think we will gather a lot more from the scunny game than any other. We can maybe see if the style of play sarl is introducing is working against a similar ability side to us.

That was a fecking scorcher…. Coach had to stop at a garage for more water…for us on board, bugger the radiator.
Went in the bogs at half time in the stand and saw the surreal sight of a coppers helmet protruding above the cubicle as he obviously went in for a pee…

think sarll said something similar about this game. could see what his favoured 1st league game starting team will be bar those out with knocks. they,ll be closer to the type of side we will be playing next season unlike in previous games.

Yes it is. Strong evidence that the players have bought into the style. More players managing to get into the opposition third will always bear fruit. I agree with Sarll when he said Scunny would be the benchmark game for him to judge where we actually are and it should turn out like that, although it is still a friendly but a more important one.
If I was a bit nearer I would certainly turn up.
Totally different team and approach.
