Taping Goals

Those were the days, the Pools’s goals tape inserted and finger on te start button to record them as they come up.
I remember recording a goal by Rob McKinnon, it was a belter with him charging up the Mill Hose side towards the Town End to unleash a cracker of a shot to score.
Rewound it to rewatch it and at the vital moment it switched over and off to enjoy the Casualty Shiite it was being taped over… banghead

Yeah I used to tape the Back Page (just the bit with Pools on).

That goal reminds me of the winner vs Wigan 92-93 (it isn't this one as it was in the Rink End). We were three up, Wigan brought it back to 3-3 (Hodgey had a mare) then McKinnon nearly took the net out with the winner. Happy times.

It had to be only Pools, anything else was sacrilege…the worst part was enduring the ‘BIG THREE’ bollocks before hand banghead
