Maybe we would have signed him had our manager not been on his hols?

Or maybe he was offered more money, or maybe he wanted to sign for a team he was already familiar with, or one that has a bigger ground or fan base?

Truth is you (like me) dont have a clue

I'm a bit gutted that he's gone to Carlisle, i really hope we are not pinning all our hopes on signing Duffy cos we probably won't get him.

I'm not overly worried about the strikers - no one can b as bad as Williams but we could do with strenthening in the centre of midfield, right midfield, full backs, centre backs and most of all we need a fucking decent goalkeeper......

No-one can be as bad as Williams, FFS!

How long have you been watching Pools Jonny?

I've been watching Pools for almost 18 years since I was 8. I believe that Foley, Porter and Brown would all manage more than 6 goals from 30 starts in league one never mind Division Four. Plus Mackay looked decent and Rae is supposed to be a good player so we have a lot of options for up front. Danny Graham would of been a good signing though......

It may have escaped your attention but the dark days are long gone thankfully, we don't need to carry poor players anymore. Williams was good once but we are well rid and you know it.....

Well I did not mean it literally - I meant in our currant squad..... Obviously Williams is a massive improvement on the likes of Sloan, D Henderson, and Stuey Irvine but we are thankfully a different club now.

It's just a shame that a few more players weren't culled in the recent clear out........

What do you think Kev?

Up front we have Richie Barker to partner one of Brown, Porter, Foley or Mackay. Obviously we could do with an extra striker but there's no point just signing shite. I wouldn't mind Brown getting a chance along side Barker actually , would you? I have every faith in the forwards we have to cause the opposistion a lot of problems in league one.

it's all about priorities. in left midfield Monkey, Ritchie H, Porter, Brown, Foley and Matty Robson if you're desperate could all play there so it wouldn't be top of my priority list to sign a back up for Andy Monkhouse. Monkey is fucking brilliant anyway so he's gonna start every game unless he is suspended.

Aye well maybe but the way Ritchie's made left back his own we'd be hard pressed to move him at this stage. I'm not sure I'd put James Brown up front with a fit Porter in the squad either, I'd leave him on the right where he's been brilliant at times. McKay and Foley are good subs, although it's hard to judge McKay on twenty minutes. Matty's a trier but he comes up a little short for me, again a good sub.
