To be fair there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of transfer business going on anywhere just at the minute.

It's the total silence from the new manager I find puzzling - season ticket sales in the doldrums, 8 working days left till the early bird offer ends (30th June is a Sunday) and so far zero attempt by Sarll or anyone else to drum up interest in Pools' prospects for the new season.

He was up here for a round of interviews when his appointment was confirmed. Since then he's commented remotely (as in, he wasn't at the Vic) when the two signings were announced, and that's it.

Reminds me of nothing so much as the Paul Hartley pre-season...

If the fans dont like you at pools he wont last two minutes. You would think when your managerial life is about 6 months at pools he would of made more effort to get fans on side. Has their ever been such apathy at our club? No effort whatsoever to even create any interest.

Sarll was appointed on 27th April - seven and a half weeks ago. He's the Invisible Man(ager). Does he even want to be here? I'm starting to wonder if there's a rabbit away.

I may be misremembering but in recent years hasn't there always been a long period of inactivity at Pools during the close season? I recall feeling it keenly when we got promoted: was expecting signings to help us compete in the FL but not a lot ensued and weeks of silence. Same happened last year and the year before that until a frenzy of activity when Hartley appeared. Its like the club goes into stasis. Very strange.

It’s only strange if you expect the chairman to actually give a shit instead of running the club as cheap as possible while trying to get some of his money back, once you take into the owner couldn’t give a toss then the pre-season and last minute signings make perfect sense

This year he can’t even be bothered to bullshit us so has given some gullible muppet a job as fan’s spokesman to talk shite on his behalf

Memory is a funny thing. There's no comparison with the situation now and the summer after we got promoted - Pools were playing a pre-season friendly less than a month afer the play-off final! 3 weeks after that was the first game back in League 2.

The Hartley close season was also short, because he only got the job at the beginning of June. The 'long period of inactivity' was the month Raj wasted getting a new manager in. Hartley's half lot of a side played its first friendly (up at Hibs) less than a month after he got through the door.

This has been a very long close season, but 7 1/2 weeks of silence from a new manager is taking the piss.

Must still have a dream of getting the land.
Cant think of any other reason he still wants to be here.
Only takes a few bent councillors to crack.
The murky world of political corruption does exist as we all know. :angry-tappingfoot:

The way Sarll spoke about wanting to get the fans on side I thought he would want to get a few nights put together in a pub to meet the fans. Could have been a fund raiser in the Corner Flag or the one near the ticket office.

Also the two famous half back lines of Freeman, Hardy and Willis and Sheffield's Jim, Mac and Ernie.

Not again. How will we make room for them after signing Rohan Ince, Blackett, Lambert, Kellerman, Curtis Edwards and "some lad from Blyth."? Maybe he's one of the 5?
