What position.
Is he a midfielder who doesn't shy out of tackles and pass backwards.

his name does not ring a bell from our games against them last season and being my local club i have a bit more interest in them than the rest. if he is as good as keith nobbs or eric harrison from the past and manny d now the quicker he comes the better.

There's already been a full team's worth of players who are going to join us reported on here from various sources. I don't blame people for passing on what they've heard but none of those players have arrived yet and some have already signed for other clubs!

Seems to me that the small handful of people at the club who are actually in the know keep their cards very close to their chests.

A Halifax fan posted this:

Suspected this was coming, he’s originally from around your way.

Holding midfielder, very good at reading the play and tackling/intercepting. Very limited technically though. A work horse is how I’d describe him.

I’d be disappointed to see him go personally as I think he allows the more technical midfielders to flourish whilst he does the dirty work.

makes him sound even better when you read that. if by being limited technically means he,s not into square passing and tippy tappy football then thats even better.

Sounds like another Mark Shelton, which would be fair enough for getting out of this league.

well thats a name where you start to realise that a really bang average player like him has never been improved on and would have been a regular starter last season.

Only talking about what he was like for us under Dave Challinor. He couldn't cut it in League 2 but was the business in the promotion season.

Rumour has it we’ve signed two players, don’t know how true it is.
But Hunter was mentioned a couple of weeks ago on the Halifax forum about him coming here.

Hunter is supposed to be slow, so be surprised if we have signed him when we already have. Featherstone. Thought we wanted a bit of pace back in the team.

We have already have a similar sort of player so id be shocked if were after him. The big problem in our midfield last year was lack of pace was it not?

In 136 games he has scored twice so lets hoping he is good at his defensive duties, anyway isnt this rumour just because some Halifax fan reckons he will come to us or Gateshead?

99% of rumours are idle speculation that come to nothing, but it’s a pleasant way to pass the close season.
Anyone proved right is usually missing from the first few matches as the effect of shock can do strange things…Post Traumatic Signings Disorder are devastating.

KP wanted to rectify that midfield problem.
Maybe he was to ambitious.

Last season we had three midfielders who were slow,2 have been binned.
You can get away with one,if the other’s are quicker/mobile & it sounds like he can actually tackle, something else last years lot couldn’t do.

Looks like Sarly Gunna get the 19 man squad he wants.
But after Fergy n Fevs given Lifelines we now have to seriously upgrade on the offloaded players or we well n truly looking at non league Oblivion for a long stretch.

Pretty much all of Pools short-term loan signings last season were rubbish - any good memories of Aghatise, Cieran Brennan, Hancox, Zak Johnson and the rest? The common denominator is Joe Monks - I doubt very much KP arrived at the club with a full set of names and he will have been advised about who was available by Monks too.

One thing is certain - if KP had been kept on he’d have been much more committed to keeping the fans in the loop than Sarll appears to be.

if he,s nowt to say its better to keep quiet till he has. a page of crap telling us nothing new is pointless, but shortly we will hear how well they are all doing in training, new lads have settled and are raring to go. think that will make everyone happy then.
