My locals Tamworth will be in the National next season and their Chairman, who has been involved for in excess of 30 years, and majority owner Bob Andrews is 77. Will he still be able to increase his financial help to allow Tamworth to survive?

There does seem to be major backing by individuals running Clubs, but without them how many will truly survive.

I don’t want to be disrespectful in any way but I feel we’re burying our head in the sand about the state of Pools. We’re loaded with debt and does anyone think Raj will just walk away handing over the keys? Who on earth is going to pay good money for a middling NL team? I genuinely fear we’ll end up back where we started in 2017. All the clubs going bust or in trouble should serve as warning to us, rather than fans thinking oh well, at least that’s not us.

I am definitely not a Raj supporter if your thinking that your wrong. sctatchinghead I am just pleased we are not about to go bust or are we sctatchinghead Things have got to change and quickly before it does become to late. Can I ask you Mikey what proof you have that the club is " loaded with debt " because I have not seen anything that confirms that sctatchinghead Maybe you have some genuine information that you can share that finally puts to bed the state of the club.

On the debt, been mentioned on the radio there’s the £1m+ Covid loan - I’d bet a lot of money that’s been spent. The loan to Raj’s company is in the accounts and rising, so over £800k at the last count. There’s also historic debt to former owners - I’m led to believe a few hundred grand. Ex-managers still on the books.
Completely accept I haven’t got a definitive figure but there’s enough there to worry me. If someone from the club comes out and says that’s incorrect I’ll be relieved.

On other clubs, Wrexham were bought for a pound from the trust there, so there wasn’t a big sum going to former owners that could have been spent on the team. I just googled Stockport - they had debt but that was converted to equity in the club, which meant a clean slate financially. Forest Green are a made up club so not arsed about them.

The original post was meant positively though and I get it. Am glad will still have a club to support too. I just think we’ve been naive about the finances at Pools. The first thing the fan rep should be asking is for transparency around finances. As someone anointed by Raj though, I doubt he’ll ask.

Cant see him keeping us up to speed now on matters that fans should know about.
I'd never believe in Google answers as being gospel like.
Speculation to be continued then. sctatchinghead!

Well one thing we’ll never have is the Gateshead problem….the ground.
But reflecting on Gateshead, it appears it’s the most important thing of all, because it’s undone all the good work in the blink of an eye.
A nice untouchable asset.

Plus, I couldn’t see our supporters taking it easily, the Civic Centre would be under siege and being a Councillor would lose it’s appeal.

pools are fucked along with the game as a whole when you read the stuff even from the media and thats without looking deeper at each clubs affairs closely. if only there was one improvement i could see then it would not feel all doom and gloom.

With the shit standard of so called footballers today.
It's a perfect opportunity for ambition to be realized.
Looks like Ambition doesn't come into play at Pools anymore.
The scepticals will say there never has been ambitions like.

All depends what is meant by ambition Kev.
You say it looks like there is no ambition at Pools anymore and say the scepticals(sic) say there never has been any.
Does that mean you and they have joined forces.

I can't ever remember the club being regularly classed as an ambitious one. Maybe fleetingly but never regularly.

My maxed out ambition was holding our own in league One like we used to with the odd season pushing for the top 6.
A bit like what same size club Lincoln are doing now.
I ain't dreaming of us doing a Luton by the way incase I come across of having mental fantasy which won't happen.
Now I've downgraded to holding our own in league 2 if we ever get back there and the odd top 7 finish.

Reasonable or am I way to ambitious.
All views welcome as usual.

Back when I got the ground listed as a asset of community value you wouldn’t believe the shit I got from some. Their view was that I was trying to stop any investment in the ground so I was therefore a twat.

luton and brentford can have far higher ambitions than us because they have played at the top level of the game before. even lincoln have played in the second tier. we have reached a third tier play off final therefore a realistic ambition for pools would be repeating that even if the result turned out the same. its same with dorking where their realistic ambition would be getting promoted back into our league and playing more than one season in it. stupid ambitions are for clubs playing in league that their ground or fan numbers cannot sustain it. somewhere down the line there is a maximum number of fans pools will ever have away from a one off cup game against a top premier league side.

It's fair to say then that we are majorly underachieving at this present time.
The Optimism which is a suppose is in our dna is starting to fade though.

Like your slant on things KPG, A good read.
Some clubs are having difficulties staying afloat, Thats their ambition.
Not saying we should not aim higher.

Lets see how the new gaffer fares, Seems a lot of posters, Post and don,t know much about him.
As far as i know his demands on players are extremely high.

we certainly are underachieving at the moment but some being overoptimistic are not helping the situation we are presently in. patience is the best thing we can have but i,m afraid its in short supply and getting shorter across football in general.
