These little pearls of wisdom (excuses) are typical…can’t just say we got beat, that would ruin the corporate message.
These teams never just get beat, they have ‘system failures’ due to a variation in circumstances.

Absolutely, if Newcastle had won the Palace manager would have complained the his team were tired having played at the weekend whereas Newcastle had 10 days to rest and prepare.
I reckon if I was on the salary of any PL player I'd be willing to play every other day.

mind you haven,t we all said the same in the past when we get beat. its looking for an excuse to try to defend your team.
