Down the path between North Gare car park and Seaton cricket club and spotted what appeared to be a gold pebble the size of a grape with a white swirl in it….looked like a piece of jewellery.
As I bent down to pick it up it moved slightly and a creamy yellow snail emerged from it and moved slowly into the grass, never seen this before….anyone any ideas….luckily I photographed it.

Will they know how to use them?…sorry couldn’t resist it.

When did it start up? I like things like that…just surprised they took to such a central location.

By all accounts it's the same pair that have returned to Cromer over these past 4 years. As much as I could see yesterday there are 3 eggs but they normally only rear 1 per year.

When the camera pans out there are some lovely views of the pier and sea.

There are other sites normally within Church settings, not sure but thought there was one at York Minster.

Just thought it odd as it’s the busiest place in the town especially in summer.

There’s one in Nottingham, not sure if it’s the City Hall or a church.
They also nest regularly at Hart Quarry.

My golden snail turns out to be a South American import popular with aquarium enthusiasts…..an invasive specie and an unlikely escapee or more likely dumped…we really do have some fools on the loose.

I once worked with someone who said that every time he headed to the toilet, it started to grind a bit in the Portacabin office we shared after three years, as you knew it was coming. banghead
