Is it just ex players that can score against us?

Gabbiadini, Rush, Howey then Hignett.

Who is the keeper Pools are playing with?, after a slow start he made some quality saves but I could not find his name in Mad John's site.

Baker scored against Sunderland & Dalton against Newcastle, both were equalizers to make it 1-1.

No Scotty or Agnew.
At one point I heard a couple of Newcastle chants, other than that all the crowd noise was ours.
I heard '2 little boys' & during our game against Newcastle there were chants of 'Youre supposed to be at home'
Well done Poolies, both fans and players clappp rolf

Personally I found it embarrassing. We were miles behind the other teams and clearly Brian Honour just rang his old mates up. We could have put together a much better team than that.

To be fair I thought we competed a lot better than last year, and every single keeper we played against made some outstanding saves. Including the young Newcastle keeper in the kids game before hand.

Did anyone tape it last night if so any chance of a copy. I got rid of Sky a few months ago.

Agree and disagree.

We certainly didn't embarass ourselves and had fair amounts of possession in most games but lacked any threat infront of goal.

The team we had was pretty schite to be fair, when Boro have players like Hignett who played as recently as 2 months ago and we have the likes of Saville who haven't played proffesionally in about 10 years, it was no real surprise we came bottom

From watching it today I think we were just missing that extra quality in front of goal that the other sides have

can't really think of anyone else we could get though

I through that one in for a laugh, he turned into a bit of a nob when he went to Darlo but you have to admit the Clarky shuffle he used to execute was decent. I remember him doing it at Hull at least 3 times when we stuffed them 3-0 to get in the play offs.....

He was total shite in my opinion, heart the size of a pea. He looked OK in a winning side but otherwise he was bobbins. By all accounts, he was also a total twat.

I remember his goal against us at the Vic maybe five years ago when we were only 2-0 up. Ran about like he'd just emulated Pele, then we won 4-1.

He got sacked at the end of that year.

i watched it on video last night. it wasnt as bad as i expected it to be, the keeper played well, mckinnon was absolutely superb, and dalton did very well.

as i said beforehand 6 a side indoors is a different kettle of fish to 11 a side on grass. you really need 5 mobile outfield players whose primary attributes are a great first touch and ability to pass the ball. you also need a cool and lethal finisher.

the likes of nobbsy, baker and saville were always going to struggle in that enviroment ( bakers hold up play was good but he was about 5 clem overweight. )

what shocked me was how fat the majority of players were. for guys who were meant to be ex proffessional sportsmen some of them were in appalling condition. they were having to go and have a rest every 4 or 5 minutes. im older than most of them and i do more running about in training on a tuesday night than these fellas did live on t.v.

do they just sit about getting pished all day ?

I imagine they having played and trained everyother day since the age of 11 they may fancy a bit of a rest

Not everyone has reached your dizzy heights now, have they?

fair enough i guess , just a shame we cant get the likes of stevo, who at least looks as though he could still run for a bus, involved. its a bit sad watching your heroes with beer guts and triple chins huffing and puffing.

Mind it wasnt so long ago player with beer guts and triple chins turned out for us on a regular basis

At a safe distance he did, somewhat beyond the penalty area, where the shower of pies and spit didn't reach him.
