I believe Rochdale are fan owned so maybe overspent on a pipe dream. Very sad news either way. :uhoh:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we are one of the most played fixture in the EFL and now National League. Over a 120 games in total, thinking it could be more.

It would be really sad if they go.

Checking on Mad John's 'In The Mad Crowd', our most played opponents are:-

Darlo 181
Rochdale 153
Stockport 142
Crewe 139
Halifax 133
Carlisle 130
Tranmere 130
York 128
Lincoln 115
Wrexham 111
Doncaster 103
Scunthorpe 103
Chesterfield 98
Southport 97

What a lovely nostalgic list, back in the day Southport was always a bogey team for me along with Port Vale.
Proper teams instead of Home Counties smug clubs with all the charm of a weekend sanding walls.

Proper 4th division teams.

If they went pop, we lost the home game to them (not played away yet) so other teams that have beaten them would lose those points, which could help our position in the league.

By the way didn't they get the parachute payment from the EFL - what have they done with that?

Sorry to hear about Rochdale - old time fourth division travellers along with Pools. Bring back Workington Town, Southport and Darlo. Barrow made it back and are not doing too badly after about 45 years or so away from the league.

Gracie Fields was from Rochdale and they probably have more chance of getting it from that long deceased warbler than Lisa.

Gateshead to make a comeback, although possibly a grey area as to who is the real Gateshead ?

Oops sorry - that means no promotion for us this season

things and times change though. might as well get new brighton, glossop, nelson and darwen back. thats before you get to the north east ex league clubs. funny though how most of these clubs are based in the north and replacd by those from the sarf.

Aye, good point about the replacements being from the south, always a pee off with me.

We will beat the Heed in the Final at Wembley.
Well that's the fantasy/dream final.
