I think Kevin Philipps can become a Poolie legend like he was at Sunderland. Everything I love about this fella passion, never say die, clean sheets, men in the box, playermanagement, attitude, self confidence, vision, philosophy, building a back 5 Arsenal style, midfielders running at defenders, hard work. Love it. Come on lads are you not watching what I’m watching. I live 7000 miles away and I like what I see. No excuses today lads I want everyone of you writing an article about the manager, players, the chairman allowing Philipps to bring in quality players. He made mistakes . We all do. Then apologised and is learning from his mistakes. A positive message on him would be good. No excuses today lads. After you had your bacon sarny write write write. I want to see 30 positive messages, or Harrigate Poolie will be upset.

I’ll add about Joe Grey scoring a few goals lately. He’s on 8 now I think. Only 20 years old so plenty of time to keep progressing. Could be a big player for us now he has found his shooting boots. Plays his best football out wide rather than as a striker.

I believe he is going to be a top manager, already has a few years experience in coaching at Premiership & Championship level.

Is full of praise for his players (and Raj) and I am sure that helps in their respect of him and the results that have improved dramatically.

You can see what will happen next season.
KP will have us up around the top 3,the Mackems will get their wish & Beale will be sacked & KP will take the short trip up the A19.

Masive jump from National league to Championship. Would the Mackems take such a risk? More likely a League One or Two club would poach him. But for now I'm going to enjoy the ride while it lasts.

Agree totally.
KP may need at times to bollock the team and individual players...but unlike some previously it looks like he certainly ain't going to do it in that way publicly.
Sensible imo.
Encouraging rather than slating players makes sense.
It's called "positivity."
You may have heard him use the word a few times since he came in.

Parkes is a permanent signing. The two CBs are the ones who have given solidity to the team. The loan player (Khan, Senior, Duffus, Cooper, Dickenson) mainly brought in to make up for injuries to the likes of Umerah and Mancini. Senior and Cooper are one month loans only and Khan, Senior, Duffus all injured as you know.

The last guy brought in plenty of players and was backed with a 3 year deal?

KP will have his moments. But the way we have finally found some form - brought in the right players. Playing right upto the 90th minute with belief and passion is only down to one man. He has seemed to get the best out of those who didnt turn up before. He has also seemed to fathom that playing your best 11 in their actual positions wins you games ! Think on a whole the team is riding a mini wave of success and long may it continue ! id like us to build on this for next season and maintain what we started this time round. Albeit the likes of Mancini and maybe a few others may not be here but its important that KP finds their better replacements which i think Joe seems to have done a really good job with as per KPs latest interview. There will be alot of players out of contract again in the summer and its KP who i can imagine will persuade them to be here. Joe Grey as mentioned by others is turning into the player we want him to be too ! long may his form continue and he get better !
Again should he keep firing them in and having good games, the scout reports will be flying out and the poachers will come !

Exciting times ahead Poolies !

Could be a lot of compensation then if he did leave us. :snooty:

Phillips loved as a player by all Mackems but the reality is, he has never managed in the Football League never mind in the Championship. I cant imagine the Mackems giving him the managers job. No way. Stays with us a couple of years and gets a promotion or two he would be a more suitable candidate.

Massive jump up from Northern Premiership and National League to Championship team. Be like a pilot going from a 2

KP would appease the fanbase.
SAFC owned by a 27 year old idiot.
Nothing would surprise me tbh.

The 27 year old is just a figurehead, his old man is the money man behind the Mackems.

“My family’s been around sports for a very long time,” he told the Financial Times. His late father Robert once owned French team Olympique de Marseille. “Football isn’t new to me,” he added, “it isn’t something where my passion came overnight."He took control of Sunderland in 2021, aged just 23, and now owns a 64 per cent stake. The remaining shares are held by Juan Sartori, a Uruguayan senator, who is also a private equity executive, and the son-in-law of Dmitry Rybolovlev, a Russian oligarch who controls French club Monaco."

I doubt very much he will have much say even though he is the majority shareholder, the Russian and the Uruguayan will be pulling the strings.
